  1. will post results within the next couple of days. Just have been really busy. Believe me, you guys are going to want to check back to hear what I have to say. Was a little disappointed that some of my plants where hermies, but I am extremely happy with the end results.......
  2. I was very disappointed at where the show was headed also. I do not like the word medical or medicinal associated with marijuana. I am not sure of his name, but the guy on the show with his stupid hat and braids basically called everyone who smokes pot or sells without it being medically related are criminals. I agree with everything you said Panic.
  3. Any bud or plant you have ever seen in any magazine from High Times or whatever magazine you read has been touched up. They do this to bring out the picture. Take your camera and take a picture of something. When viewing it does your picture look exactly like the subject does in real life. No. Sometimes the picture is not its true color or the picture might be saturated or not saturated enough, there is to much light or not enough or the wrong kind of light, ect. Touching up picture makes them come back to life. For instance. lightbud picture of his Hericules doesn't look like that in real life. Look how unsaturated the colors are. I bet that plant will looking pretty amazing being touched up to bring it out some more.
  4. I had 8 out of 14 femizied Hericules plants be hermies. I couldn't believe it. This is my first time growing so I wasn't sure what to look out for. I was trimming when I noticed seeds. No light leaks, humidity and the temperature were set nearly perfect, I didn't do any sort of LST. Didn't water too much or too little. I always gave them less nutrients than recommended on the bottle as sure of to not burn them. I am really not sure what could have went wrong. Although I am positive I didn't have enough light for 14 plants. Could this have given me hermies? I have never read of plants becoming hermies if they don't have adequate light. Also, a couple of my plants that were getting good light were hermies also. On the plants where I found seeds they had this tiny banana looking thing sticking up. I guess this is what I look for if they are hermies? I guess I still have a lot to learn. I would like to thank this site and the people who visit that give advice to us non experienced growers. I've gained so much useful information from reading your post. Growing these plants has given me a new outlook on plants and how they behave. I have to say that is was an enjoyable experience and I cannot wait to grow again. Believe me, every time I hit some good weed now it makes me appreciate the time and effort it went into growing and curing it. .........Are these seeds worth planting or should I throw them away?
  5. The trichomes are telling me its time to harvest. Today I am cutting them all down. I will post back with dry weights and a smoke report. Thanks to all who have given me advice. Thanks to Sannie for the seeds.
  6. I was going to experiment with another bud, unfortunately today I have to cut them all down. I will be growing again in a couple of months so I will continue this experiment. I would encourage anyone else to to this also to see what the results are.
  7. Thanks everyone. I got a pretty good idea now. e$kob@r is right about the hair dressers scissors. They make it so much easier to manicure the bud.
  8. Upon further viewing my crops it is indeed time to harvest. I'm very excited. This is my first grow so I need some trimming help. From what I have been researching, I only trim the very tips of the leaves with the trichomes. Does this sound correct? Or do I trim these leaves as close to the buds as possible. I done a lot of research, but people say so much different stuff that I don't know what to do.
  9. you probably don't work seedling to be under 24/24 since they are so delicate. I would wait at one week from germinating to put them under 24/24. However, if you are using Fluorescent lighting then I don't think it will matter. I placed mine under 24/24 and had great results in veg.
  10. well I am probably the first person to ever do this. However, I am not sure if it is coincidence or the procedure actually worked. I am testing this out on another bud to see if I get similar results. If this does actually produce more Trichomes then I am going to have to coin a phrase to describe it. I was going to go with Scraping.... to coin the procedure. Any suggestions?
  11. As you guys know Trichomes (crystals or tiny hairs) protect plants from UV rays, insects, and environmental factors such as low humidity. And with bud the more the merrier. Not that I am an expert on this stuff, but I did a lot of research before growing. We all want more stickier and frostier plants and there a lot of ways of doing this such as starving the plants of water (soil based),lowering the humidity and giving them certain nutrients. I am not sure if these procedure work, again this is what I have read. Now you can do certain things to a plant to make the plant grow faster and bigger, and create more buds and this can be achieved with some sort of stress whether its LST, topping, or ect. So that got me thinking. What if you can stress the trichomes (crystal or hairs) to produce more. About two weeks ago I picked one bud from my plants and decided to do an experiment to stress the trichomes out to produce more. I took a clean razor blade and gently started scraping the leaves of the bud that where forming trichomes essentially scraping them off. The trichomes grew back and it seemed like they were more trichomes than previous. So now I am doing another bud and I am taking before and after pictures to document this. However, I am about to harvest in a week or two so my window of opportunity may have passed so I might not get the same results before I have to harvest. Also it could be my potion of molasses, salt, Fox Farm Cha Ching, andg Grow Big that I have given my plants. But, of course my experimental bud is my frostiest. Anyway I thought you guys might find this interesting. I will posting my other bud experiment in a couple of weeks so look out for it.
  12. for texture, clarity, definition, color, and focal point I will have to go with ( phuuu ad - sweet pink grapefruit ) It's by far the best quality picture up here, but I would love to smoke them all.
  13. It also has a lot to do with the camera. I am using an expensive photography camera by canon. It has a setting for flowers which brings out the color a little more. With cameras you get you get what you pay for.... as with buying bud. The bud above is my experimental bud. I haven't posted my experiment yet, but this is as good as time as any.
