  1. It has to start somewhere.... Before I dive into my antics underway, here are a few bud shots from my last grow. Personally I like seeing bud shots when I open OG MzDrzz Took another run with this clone great structure on the plant and phenomenal flowers.some of the densest foxtails I have encountered. From Sinister Seeds Cut at 70/71 days Dried and pre cure….. KA Kush (she had PM come back again, she is on her last run now..) Also Sinister Also ran me some Dynasty Seeds Caramel Candy Kush: Clipped around 70-74 days. look @ the frost on the undercarriage here…. And also had a nice run of some E$cob@r Chocolate Rain, still loving on this plant, she gets some hard foxtails too. Had some changes in real life, I moved into a 95% work from home role when my company closed our local office. This afforded me the opportunity of grabbing some office supplies and as part of those activities secured a couple more cabinets. As such, about a month ago I converted one, so now I have thing 1 and thing 2, Needless to say should be extra productive as I have increased my space. I am going to stagger them and hopefully get to the point of harvest every 4-6 weeks. So here are some basics for the run, I will have two setups: Thing 1 - the original cab. Same setup as usual, 400 W digital ballast in a vented hood, hydro system, 12 spots. I am running a new nute regimen this round from mbferts. They have their own powdered food and since they have been great on other merch, figured I would give this a spin, especially since my local hydro guy decided to flip the script and drop my jungle juice, so check in on this journal if you have looked into their nutes, I’ll be using them and will share and report results. I also implemented a Solistek MH 6K, for veg in Thing 1, plants are responding well, and definitely seeing some nice growth. This cab has been in Veg now for just about 3 weeks. Thing 1 Lineup: (4) Chucky Bride (3) Sugar Punch (2) MzDrzz (Ms U x Drizz) (1) Chocolate Rain (1) KO Kushx(CJxGM) (1) Lemon thai Thing 1 Thing 2 - new cab, been in bloom for about 3.5 weeks, Running a 400W Magnetic ballast bare bulb setup, hortilux, inspired by Indi, I have to give this method a try. Also changed things up and I am running a organic soil mix, based mainly around the Rev’s formula, but I don’t have feather meal and few other ingredients (oyster shells, alfalfa husks and a couple other). I’ll post a list of whats in here in a bit, once I pull that up. I am excited about the christening run for this voyager, she is getting some of my older Mom’s and some other plants I had that just needed to get going. Some of the Mom’s had PM a cycle ago, and PM came back to visibly show itself around week 4 in the last flower run, I am done with the struggle and sending them for final bloom. Thing 2 is planned to be about 4 weeks ahead of thing 1 in general, this should afford me with more turns. Her current lineup: (3) KA Kush (2) KO Kush (4) Caramel Candy Kush (1) Chuck Bride (1) MzDrzz (Ms Uni x Drizz) (3) Raining Caramel Kush ((CRxKOK)xCCK) (1) (CRxKO Kush)x Blue Chem (2) DeathStar x (Huck/Silverfield/Choco Rain?) ((2) diff pheno) Overall in here things are looking great. Soil seems to be holding its own and allowing me with some more flexibility, as soil affords me some freedom to move things around that I just don’t get with Hydro. Thing 2 KA Kush MzDrzz Overview of box Week 2: Week 3: Death Star x Huck Kush (these were test clones for determining sex, I have two females!! KO Kush Brain Rain x Blue Chem (Personal Cross I made (Brain Rain (Chocolate Rain x KO Kush)), never ran before, she’s a lady!) Caramel Candy Kush I will try to post again soon to catch you up on where this is at soon, I am a week behind on pics. thanks for looking and feel free to comment and what not, it's that dialog that helps keep these threads moving. enjoy
  2. Hello everyone. I am currently designing a small cabinet to grow in. I am asking a few obvious questions but I dont want to waste money and materials due to incorrect calculations. On the intake I am planning to fit a HEPA filter but no intake fan and I am wondering how much this will affect my grow? Want to use a exhaust fan large enough to compensate for no intake fan. I have calculated the airflow requirements as below and just need to know whether it is accurate and sufficient. Interior dimensions as follows: L: 650 mm (25 1/2") W: 450 mm ( 17 2/3") H: 1060mm ( 41 2/3") Total volume = 0.31 m3 (10.95 ft3) At one airchange a minute that gives me a minimum Fan requirement of 0.31 m3 X 60 = 18.6m3 per hr lets round it off to 19 m3 (671cft) Then I add 35% (6.65m3)[235cft] to allow for the use of a carbon filter Also adding 20% (3.8m3)[ 134cft] to compensate for not having an intake fan And lastly adding another 35% (6.65m3) [235cf] to compensate for the HEPA filter on the intake... This gives me a total of 36.1m3 (1274cft) for the fan to move in an hour in order to change out the air once every minute. Am I then correct in assuming that thusly I would need a fan with a rating of at least 36.1m3/hr OR 1274cft per hour /60 minutes = 21.3cfm ?? I will be using one 150W CFL growlight and will not grow more than two plants in a DWC-LP -aeroponic hybrid system.I may possibly upgrade to another 150W CFL in future. I have grown outdoors but am new to indoor growing and want to have a small cabinet to sustain me during winter. I have the following questions: > Will I have sufficient airflow with the fan calculations as above to skip a circulation fan as my space is limited? >How do I calculate the size of the intake? > Can I adjust the intake/ extraction hole size ratio in order to compensate for the lack of a circulating fan? Any help or advice is appreciated.
  3. Thanks to the admins/mods for validating me so quickly (registered last night). Apologies to Polder for asking for help before reading the new members forum... A brief introduction before getting to the important stuff. I'm a 52 year old guy recently diagnosed with OCPD. Not quite the same as OCD, but it has caused problems in life for me (inlcuding the loss of a job and nearly my marriage). Someone turned me on to a couple of hits of good smoke and it lifted my spirits a good deal. I actually smiled, laughed and was enjoying life for awhile! I figured it would. I used to smoke a lot in high school. But that was the late 70's/early 80's when we didn't have a clue what we were smoking. Just bought what was available when it was available... Problem is, I never found out what kind of "good smoke" this was! So I started studying, reading all I could find about strains and growing it. OCPD kicked in though and all the differing views could get more confusing for me than educational. So, I decided to just give it a try and here I am. Seed Selection: Since I don't know and can only make assumptions, I chose to go with Sannie's Fem Mix and also bought the regular Jackberry F4. For my initial grow (which I will post with pics in a more appropriate forum- probably Sannie's area unless advised otherwise), I have chosen to go with 1 seed of the feminized Killing Fields and 3 seeds of the Jackberry (hoping to get at least 1 female). I assume this combination will work without serious issue. Seeds should arrive next week. Soil: I wanted to use FFOF, but have read conflicting reviews of it. I would rather NOT use what the stores around me carry which is Miracle Gro and other like soil with fertilizer added, moisture control, etc. Just want good dirt I can rely on. I live on a horse farm and have a ton of rotted manure, but probably full of bad juju. Anyway, if I want something other than Wally World or Lowes soil, looks like I'll have to buy online. I also have a couple or few pounds of worm castings and thought I would mix that in with 30% perlite into whatever soil I go with. Also have some General Hydroponics Grow, Bloom and Micro liquid I can use (as long as it is still good. It's about a year old). Have some Neptune's Fish and Seaweed fert too. Plan to use 10" or 13" pots and leaning toward 13". Will start seeds in jiffy pots or spongepots. Lighting: I have a 4' 6-lamp 54watt T5 setup that I will use start to finish. I have 6 each of the AgroMax Grow (6400k) and Bloom (3000k) lamps. Grow Box (under construction): I tried to get creative by using two old bookcases that I have turned to face each other, spacing them far enough apart to allow my light fixture to fit into one side with enough space on the other side (with a shelf) for clones, which I will add another small floro lamp to do. I've taken some heavy white fire retardant plastic material that is used in construction with scaffolding, doubled it up and wrapped it around the backs and sides of the bookcases. I'll hang it in the front too making curtains for access. The back of the box is placed in front of a window that I've boarded up except for about 3" along the bottom so I can crack the window open for ventilation as necessary. This may turn out to be a problem as the material doesn't completely block the light that comes through, but I figure I can eliminate that by hanging mylar to line the insides of the box. I'll cut some kind of vent through the material and add a piece of 6" hose from the box to the window crack.... More in the grow thread later- with pics of it all. I'm determined to do this without asking for help. But I see that with a grow log, experienced growers often chime in when they see a problem that goes unnoticed. So I will welcome inputs but will try not to ask for them. Wish me luck!
