  1. Hey im about to start a new coco grow in a few days ,so i decided to make a grow report (once again) but this time here on OG, coz i really like this place hehe. 2. friends, what is the best way to find the pH of a soil-less mixture (coco+fox farm soils?) in this case, the mix consists roughly of 1/3 coco (roots brand) , 1/3 fox farm ocean forest, and 1/3 fox farm light warrior, no other amendments. having one hell of a time with plant problems. possible nutrient lockout due to pH. plants were watered with bottled distilled/spring water (whatever was cheapest). assumed that the distilled bottled water was pH neutral, but after weeks of use was shocked to see the pH was ~4 right out of the jug. compound the fact that botanicare nutrients were used at 1/3 strength, who knows how low the pH drifted?! thanks
  3. Hello Opengrowers Most would know me on here from growing in Mapito as this has been my style of growing for the past 5-6 years, I have enjoyed growing in mapito and have had excellent results but it was due a change need something to get me thinking again and something that im not used to. So after doing abit of homework i decided coco drain to waste on multiple feeds per day was the way to go. One thing i like about this is not having to deal with the itchy maptio anymore i do not miss that So il go through my set up. 1000w Gavita 1.2m Roof Qube Tent 2 x 4" Outake fans with filters 12" Floor fan HM Digital Ec Pen HM Digital pH Pen Canna Professional Plus Coco Canna Aqua Vega + Flores Canna PK 13/14 Metrop Calgreen Superthrive House & Garden Root Stimulator PH Down For the drip irrigation i used a MJ1000 pump connected a valve to control pressure then to a manifold where my drip lines run off and i have 2 x blue arrow stakes per each pot. Any questions please ask Thanks Snydgrow.
  4. Hi all! I recently ordered some seeds from Sannie and decided to sign up here and share my grow. I figured no better place than here if I need help pheno hunting or with questions concerning these strains. This is my 3rd grow and my first run from seed. It's been exciting so far. I'm running 2 rooms. 1 is a 4x8 scrog under 2 Fluence Spydr Xplus 650w LEDs in RDWC I built to mimic the undercurrent system. I love the design of these LEDs as they cover my canopy completely. With Co2 they sit 6" from tops without light or heat burn. The 2nd room is a 4x7 under a Gavita E6/750 pushed to 800watts on a light rail in 5 gallon pots of coco. With the mover I've been keeping the light about 1.5-2 feet over the canopy without issue. Also a clone/mother cabinet under florescents. Co2 in both flower rooms in a controlled, sealed environment. The systems: RDWC is 13 gallon buckets fed by 3" pvc lines, 3/4" return line to a 1200 gph pump through a 1/2 HP chiller keeping my nutes at 65-68 degrees throughout the grow. 2 air pumps keep my dissolved oxygen about as high as possible. The coco is in 5 gallon fabric pots. I used DNA coco w cork and added perlite for extra drainage as by the end of flower I will be watering 3 times a day. I may build a drip system, but for now I'm hand watering 5 gallons am/pm twice daily. Drain to waste of course. Nutes: Like I said this is my 3rd grow ever. First grow I ran Canna in coco with some deficiencies, hermies, etc. This was my crash course in coco grow. 2nd grow I ran Nectar for the Gods line in coco for a more organic type of grow. Results were good on both grows, but the 2nd seemed tastier with less yield. The 2nd run I also had deficiencies, but nothing too bad. The Herculean Harvest just seemed to be clogging the coco at the end. Now, on to this grow... I'm running the full line of Cultured Solutions in the RDWC and the Coco following their feeding schedule. In coco I'm running 3/4 strength. In RDWC I'm very low strength. Anytime I exceed 220ppm I see nute burn. I supplement with 1/4-1/2 strength CaliMagic every feeding. In the coco during flower I've been also supplementing with leftover NTFG nutes like Yucca Extract, Athenas Aminas, Bloom Chaos, and their Guano tea. For PH up I generally use Potassium Silicate and for Down I've been using NTFG Hades Down. At the first sign of PK deficiencies I started adding 1/2 strength Beastie Bloomz (0-50-30). I'm in week 4 and haven't had any real deficiency issues. I guess I finally learned how to "listen" to what the plants are telling me and showing me early on. I will most likely stick with this lineup in the future, but won't know until they've cured and been smoked. Environment: 6000BTU window AC unit, 50 pint dehumidifier, 2 vortex fans and carbon filter, and Co2 tank Strains: I'm running Herijuana IBL, Fem Sugar Punch, Fem Madberry That's about it for now. I've gotta get some pics up in the next post
  5. Hi OG growers and readers. I thought i would share our ongoing grows, i read so much in this forum so i have to give some back. Karma you know. We grow in Coco substrate since a few years with great success, this time we try something new, correls E/F in pots , but just on 1 of 4 Wilmas. Nutrients are Canna all over. (Canna-Coco,-Aqua,-Zym,-Rizotonic and a little bit Boost or CaneSugar.) Our water from the line is EC 0,65 PH 6,7-7,1, we do not use osmosis filtering. (waste of water) The setups and strains are as follows, i hope you enjoy our grow and ask what is to ask. 1x1m Homebox with 400W HPS AAW, 9x10L+2x6L pots with coco substrate, hand watering. Grow from seed,Strains: 3x Chocolate Cheese female, 4x Lady Cane female 1x male, 2x Chocolate Rain female 1x male They are flowering for maybe 10 days now i have to look for that, startet the seeds in the end of December last year. They were vegging in 0,2L pots with soil under a 250w hps till they showed sex. EC 1,8/PH 6,0 Chocolate rain male smells sweet coffee cocoa Lady Cane male smells hazey fruity incense 2,4x1,2m Homebox with 2x 600W, 4xWilma E/F+circulation pump, 24x11L pots (18xCoco and 6xHydroCorrels) + 8x6L pots (6xCoco and 2xHydroCorrels) Plants all from Cuttings, left side is mainly Chocolate Rain on the right is: Sour Lemon Haze, in between them the are 1xJack Herer&1x Brambleberry Kush on the Left side and 1xChemdog, 1x Pineapple Gold & 1x Maple Leaf Indica. In the front row thre are: 1x Sour Lemon Haze, 3x Super Lemon Haze, 2x Maple Leaf, 1 Iced Apple x OrtegaMLI#7, 1x Sour Lemon Haze#6 The plants in Coco are waterd by hand till they root nicely, i think i will fill up the wilmas end of the week. I flushed the coco last grow a little to much so the Plants had to less nutrients after transplanting and ther was a slight P defiency and then we sprayed against spyder mites (got a ED Superbud cut which was infected, so better before then after its to late) so it was getting worse. Now the new growing tips look healthy so i have put the net in ,put the clips down and switched to flowering. Coco EC 1,8/PH 5,9 Aqua EC 1,8/PH 5,7 Have a nice day OG I go to bed, i hate night shift.

  7. Greetings again everybody! Over the past few months I have tried very hard produce various grow journals but have failed completion due to a very busy and complicated schedule and lack of "free time" I am hoping to free up some time over the next few months to show some of the little projects I get the pleasure of creating. In an attempt to make up for some previous incomplete journals, here is a peek of a little bit of testing with some new toys and design for you all to enjoy. Once again, all fruits of this labor of love are given away free of charge to those in need. My fee still remains the inner joy of growing and giving. First up, We have had a little room upgrade from a 4ft x 7ft (1.2x2.3x2.0) to a 5ft x 10ft (1.5x3.0x2.3) The tent on one side has a Gavita Pro 1000w DE and the other side a Dimlux 1000w DE. On the left half of the tent we have 4x Grateful Casey (Casey Jones) vegged 3 weeks. On the right of the tent we have 2x Super Critical (Critical Mass x White Widow) vegged 3 weeks. And on the right a C99 mother that has been heavily LST'd and put into flower. All of these ladies are in 8L Rocket Pots filled with Coco that has had Beneficial Fungi hand mixed in. The watering system is a Tropf Blumat system using an elevated control tank. Some lovely root mounding. The Blumat system is using a control tank to maintain consistent pressure. It is simply a reservoir pumping water up to smaller shelved reservoir and overflowing back down to the main reservoir. By doing this the line pressure remains consistent regardless of the lower reservoir level due to the the upper reservoir always being the same fill level. The ladies (except the c99) were vegged for 3 weeks from rooted clone and topped going into flower. They are currently at the end of week 2 of 12/12 They are running on BAC Nutrients for this grow. Recipe thus far has been: 2ml/L Grotek Calmax 3ml/L BAC Coco Bloom 0.2ml/L BAC Silica Power 0.2ml/L BAC Bloom Stim 0.05ml/L BAC Pro Active EC 1.6, PH 5.8 I foliar spray every third day in a cycle: Grotek Calmax + Dutch Master Saturator Dutch Master Liquid Light + Dutch Master Saturator And have sprayed BAC Foliar Spray once a week since 12/12 Girls are currently drinking 40 litres per day. Enjoy! Rose.
  8. Hey fellow growers and showers. Forgive me for my absence, it has been one of those weeks. It seams that I can't strike a good work/home balance at the moment, and it is becoming fatiguing. I hope this small house of Jane I have will enable me to look at going for part-time work this year. I'd Like to show you guys a bit more of my garden, I thought I would add some more pictures in this thread instead of the introduction I did. The strain is apparently Jedi Kush and as it's a clone off a friend and being in an illegal state, i have no way to verify it's authenticity. I'm using 23L rocketpots, with Canna coco. I run the BAC mineral nutrients, my schedule in veg was (it didn't change) 2m/l of BAC grow a 2m/l of BAC grow b 2m/l of Growtek Calmax 0.8-1.0m/l of BAC Root Stim. EC 1.6 PH 6.0 I reduced the size of my pictures down to 1/5th of their original, so we'll see how this turns out This is the 2 girls in veg. 1 growlite og hood burning a solistek 600w 4k bulb week 4 I got a second loaner ballast from a generous friend and put the second hood to use with another bulb. I was changing things around and trying to find what works, those big clear tubs didn't work too well for me. week 5 I skipped week 6 pics for some reason, probably too stoned After I vegged out the girls for 6-7 weeks, I flipped the light schedule to 12/12 and kept them under the 4k bulbs for a few days. The nutes so far 2m/l of BAC flower a 2m/l of BAC flower 2m/l of Growtek Calmax 1-2m/l of BAC bloom stim Week 1 week 2 week 3 and now week 4 (Edit on the above image, a week 1 pic slipped in and i've swapped it back to a week 4 pic) And here's some stem work I've been working on I took Rev's advice and cleaned out a fair bit of loose stuff, there is still more work to be done though. JK1 - named adele, because I thought she was gonna be the bbw. JK1 JK2 - turns out the name miss piggy suits this girl, she gobbles everything. JK2 - Don't be deceived by this picture, I can no longer wrap my hand around the base of the trunk. It's huge. Here is a scale picture, unfortunately in Cm's not inches haha Last but not least is my veg room. I'm hoping to make the flower room the veg room eventually and build a new flower room with double if not triple the floor space. We have a lumigrow 325 in there at the moment from another generous friend. We also have a big bubblegum ready to go, and some more jedi clones. and under normal white light I'm wondering weather or not I should put the second lumigrow in the flower room, just to go 'all out' so to speak. Heat is becoming an issue being in summer. My flower room is roughly 32C at the moment with 72%RH and I can't really bring either of those down, without increasing my power bill with a/c (I wish) I have been learning about white fly, I've had a small infestation for a while but it is becoming a problem now and I have to work out how to eradicate them. I have been using scaridfly but tonight I bought some eco oil which is supposed to be good. So I will test spray a small patch under the canopy and see how it goes. feel free to drop some bombs or advice, I will take it all in Well I'm off to water them now, I'll check back in within a few hours. WL
  9. For my new grow journal I will growing some very lovely Black Widow x White Widow princesses. In my 1.2 x 2.2 tent I have: 6x Black Widow x White Widow ladies in coco filled 8L Rocket Pots (2ftx2ft spacing for each) Blumat auto watering system Solis Tek 1000w MH 4K Bulb (Week 1 - 2) Gavita Pro 1000w DE (Week 3 - 8) B.A.C Nutrient Line. Ladies have been veged for a little under 3 weeks, and topped 1 week ago. Nutrients this week will be: 2ml/L Grotek Calmax 0.2ml/L BAC Silica 3ml/L BAC Coco Bloom 0.2ml/L BAC Root Stim 0.1ml/L H&G Drip Clean. Enjoy. Rose.
  10. Bonjour mesdames et messieurs Hello opengrowers So this is my first grow on this forum, I appreciate being here with you and sharing the joy of seeing wonderful plants grow into even nicer Buds! Here with me is a long flowering Selene Pheno, a big-headbud Madshack Pheno and a crazy tasting and beautiful smelling fast flowering Grapefruit Sativa They all grow in 10Liters of coconut fibers and get Canna-Coco as food and clear Swiss mountain water to drink Enjoy
  11. So I've seen here that a few of you coco growers don't use domes, and just go straight to coco in party cups. As I'm growing in straight coco for the first time with my indoor set up, I think I'm going to I've it a shot but I was wondering about drainage- do you poke holes in the bottoms of the cups or no? That's my biggest question. When I grew in soil and used a dome I was getting 100% clones rooting and I'm not expecting that again (though it would of course be nice!) but I want to keep going with straight coco for now

    Coco thread

hello Are there anybody who grow on coco? My purpose with the thread that anyone can ask anything about coco, sort of FAQ, noobie questions, especially in my case What are your common mistakes in coco grows, what tips do you have?
  13. I wanted to share my progress with all. I started with 12 Hercules, 2 phenos, 6 plants each pheno from clone. 1 pheno was a Heri Dom and the other a haze Dom, finishing in 9 and 13weeks respectively. Nutrients used: House & Garden Coco A&B H&G Roots Excel, Bud XL, Top Booster, and Shooting powder. Botanicare Silica Blast, AN Nirvana, Budswell and Greenplanet Massive. The Extrema and Killing Fields are in the end of week 5 and doing well. I have numbered them all and numbered their clones. I will be re-vegging the keeper pheno of Extrema. Popped 10 beans and 4 Hermied on me and 2 looked like all out males. The KF popped 5 beans and 2 plants are of weak genes and I decided to grow them out to se what would happen.
