Hi, Using the Cobs for the first time (just ordered 3x3500K). I'm growing indoors for 30 years now and this would be the first time I don't have to worry about high temperatures (I hope:). Still a conservative grower and not totally convinced regarding auto flowers. In my opinion what we grow needs time to develop and it will affect the yield, taste and high! So as soon as I have my Cobs will set up a old fashion grow without the fancy stuff ..! Starting a new build as my old set-up is broken down due to renovations of my property also down-scaling! Air is coming from the bottom front of the wardrobe channeled behind the storage compartment passing the tube heaters (and this is light tide). Due to no heat coming of the lights I suspect I have to add some heat into the wardrobe to reach the preferred temperature. Normally the silencer goes behind the fan now it have it in front to damping the electrical hum coming from the extractor fan... And it works reduced the hum about 60% of what it was without. It's really silent... My Cob wardrobe is almost ready only some small things to do like the mounting 2 fans on a rail so they can move up and down. Have 2 tube heaters if the temp, goes to low when the lights are off. Will need to calibrate the wardrobe and dial it all in for the best, temperature and have to seal the doors as it like to be light tide. Installed a fan controller able to set temperature and * low speed. My attic is vented and exhaust is going out. Air intake can be mixed or (outdoors (summer)) or (indoors (winter)) (all filtered) Just an observation, I've ordered 3 x 3500 K (flower red) and 1 x 6500 K cobs (veg blue) You can clearly see the difference in color after color correction in PS (photo below) Dropped 2 x Skunk autoflower Ten days later Made 2 telescopic aluminium rods to support the PVC coated wire mesh panel, adjustable in height without using screws/nails. Topped right Lady left one is 3 or 4 days behind Here some shots More updates will follow soon... Grtx Growboy AKA Rainmain, Raincheck
BalzaSteel posted a topic in Micro-FluoHi All I thought I'd start a collection of stealth grows so new growers can find them easily, the idea being to help those who would like to grow but are too worried about the consequences of others finding out that they're growing get their toes in the water so to speak I hope y'all will post your stealth grows here as well. here's the last cab I used, ran it for a bit over 2 years, no Idea how much weed I grew in it, it was several pounds though. I use a simple tray made outta hardware cloth and nylons to hold just over a pound (a half kilo) of activated charcoal for a scrubber, works much better than I expected, needs to be changed every six months, and all together cost just over $100 less than a can filter. Don't ya just love my high tech fasteners I was finally able to master the heat by separating my LED's from the bud area with this chunk of plywood, while the LED's produce less heat than CFLs, the way the cooling fans pull air from the top and blow it out the sides makes cooling a major pain in a short cab. Everything is wired inside steel boxes, safety first. all my fans run off a 12v adapter, went with tri-cools so I'd have a bit of control over fan speed but they're too loud on anything but low so it didn't help much. the inside dimensions are 26" wide by 12 1/2 inches deep, by 21 inches high, (65cm X31.25cm x 52.5cm) a tad cramped, but it keeps me and my worms pretty high just the one plant in flower at the moment, Beanho's Haze Hybrid Mix, as you can see it's worth 2 bucks a seed, sorry for the crappy pics. As you can see it grew great weed I've got a couple more, I'll post them later. y'all stay safe BalzOut
I picked up a 90 x 50 x 160 cm grow tent. The lights are still my home made CFL conglomeration. While shopping on my favorite web store, I found a light that may be what I need. It's half price right now and seems like a good deal for $120. Here is the description (both bulbs are included): 400 Watt Super HPS MH Grow Light System Digital Dimmable Hydroponic 400w hps mh grow light set kit. 400w ballast, Super High Pressure Sodium bulb, Metal Halide bulb, 19" Wing Reflector and pair of yoyo My questions are: ~How much light do I need in such a small tent? ~How much light is too much for my tent? Is there such a thing? ~Should I get this light kit? I've got 3 Chocolate Rain and 1 Kolossus fem started and want them to thrive!
