OhWolfie 317 Report post Posted February 8, 2019 11 hours ago, Mr Goodfellow said: Man, I gotta get me some KF. She sure is a pretty plant. never heard a bad word about it either. Hey Beach, I thought Huck Kush was supposed to smell strong huckleberry. What plant has that? I now that Chuckle Cheese of yours I grew (lost it to freeze in mid flower) really had a strong Huckleberry smell to me. It was definitely a different berry smell than any other. I was thinking that had HK in it.... just thinking some stoned thoughts, heh... peace I've grown a decent amount of Huck Kush plants, and to be honest, I only had one plant that really looked and smelled like Huckleberry. I had another plant that smelled like pineapple when it cured, and was super frosty, and the rest smelled more like the Oregon Affie ( I am presuming). I may have had another pheno that was a bit more berry when I first grew it in 2015, but the Affie dom pheno I grew with it was way better. One plant I grew smelled like earthy rootbeer, another like sandalwood and coffee, another like earthy fermented fruit. I noticed in the description that Professor P gives on Huckleberry Kush V3 that the ratio of phenos have changed. The 2012 version was like 60/30 Oregon Affie dom, with the other 10% being mixed. The V3 was like 30/40/30, with the more mixed phenos being most common. There is a V5 out now, but I don't know much about it. I think Professor P is tweaking it to get it right. The 2012 version is really Affie dom in my experience. It's an awesome strain though. Great for breeding too. Hard to fuck your pollen chucks up when you throw a Huck male on something. Almost always beefs it up, improves the structure, and brings the frost.
Mr Goodfellow 12,342 Report post Posted February 8, 2019 Thanks. Man, now I'm really curious about Beach's Chuckle Cheese. I was convinced of the huckleberry smell from them and maybe Beach can tell us if he ever got a pheno that smelled that way. Makes me curious about the parents ability to produce those terpenes. I just thought the smell was from a Huckleberry Kush. I think I wrote down the wrong parents on my cheat sheet. peace

I just had some lightly trimmed colas from outdoors this fall that were pretty and since they were personal smoke I threw them in a big tote with big boveda packs and sealed it up, worked out pretty good and it's fun when friends come by, they freak over a bud like that, something most non growers never see. I usually don't trim my personal smoke fully until I'm ready to smoke it anyway, I think it gives you better flavor and less damage from bud handling . gardenartus 12,682 Report post Posted February 9, 2019 Cool, did not know you could cure in a bag. I was just saying the other day, I get a bit of "spill" on the counter, I just wipe it up and throw it away, thinking now if I was not a grower, I would put that up very carefully lol Life of a grower is a lot different I remember one of my patients saw a plant I just chopped to trim, her mouth dropped and she wanted to man handle the plant lol. It is fun to watch those who havent' been around the plants.

You never know for sure what traits a parent is going to pass on in an outcross. A line might be true-breeding when bred to itself, but might express something different when crossed to an unrelated strain. In my experience, Huck Kush is pretty dominant in outcrosses from what I have seen, but I've only grown Huck crossed with other Kushes, so I might be misunderstanding what traits are coming from which parent.

I was stoned above and didn't mention it all.. he said Chuckle Cheese was Chucky's Bride x Choco Cheese, I think.. that's why I was amazed. Cause the smell to me was Huckleberry... heh. Makes me want to do a CB x others...
Mr Goodfellow 12,342 Report post Posted February 9, 2019 hey Baq, that looks exactly like mine. I was going to ask but I remember that you grew that strain outdoors. They tend to get that goldish look to them after grown in bright sun and then cured in garbage bags. I did mine in bags this last harvest, too, because I had to leave town. They came out pretty good considering, but they all get the gold/brown look. I kind of dig it since it reminds me of old red bud Colombian. One of my mine at least. But I tend to not trim mine tight, either for a few reasons.

She is the one makes me feel like I am trippen for about 15 seconds lol Love that plant Edit, no she does not yield well lol but this time I think I got about 6 off her, she normally only pulls a few, but she is worth growing, her high is so nice.
