I think i just might want to test that out. :verrygood

Very promising indeed, especially the proposed 'fuller' spectrum.

Will be keeping a very close eye on this one. :grinning_respect:

indeed Aad, it does look promising and i would love to test them too, the output is huge but i'm guessing the price of these will be huge too :/

I think it's crazy that you have that technology going over there, but skipped right over CMH; It's like going from a tricycle to a Hayabusa.

Does the photo of the month contest have to be pictures of cannabis? That picture is so fantastic that I almost wept...I'm sure that there's a monolith somewhere in the background... :grinning_respect:

These appear to use a spinning lamp & a small magnetron to stimulate the gas. My concern would be the RF emissions from the magnetron in a "stealth" application...

BTW Doc...I would volunteer to test one of these.....:grinning_respect:

Hey man,

Why the LED? The link WPW provided shows that they sell the technology in two different color spectrums. Do the red lamps cost a shitload more?

My 600w HPS lamps put out 150 lumens per watt. Can someone explain what the advantage is in spending a lot more money on LEDs that put out 80L/W and plasmas that put out 140L/W over cheap HPS bulbs that trump them both in output? We ran LED UFOS for one grow and they performed so poorly - and at such expense (luckily they were on loan and we didn't have to buy them) - that we handed them straight back.

You should definately not buy LED arrays...

But the spectrum that comes from the sulfur plasma is quite a bit like the sun, and as you might know, in greenhouses they use a lot of HPS to supplement for the RED that is not in the (mostely winter) spectrum. The sulfurplasma is a lot like the sun, this lamp does not have the peak in the red spectrum either.

This can be fixed by adding LED's. I've flowered a plant last year under LED and the light that comes from a window about 3 x 3, not so big (southwest), I got 218 grams of indoor quality buds...

So if anyone has LED lights they don't use anymore, ship them to KEES haha... I've got one in my tent, to supplement my 400W sunmaster bulb, we'll see if it works.

See it like this: You can't live on vitamins alone, but when you take a lot of vitamins along with your other food you will be really healty, active, concentrated blabla...

Definately nice!

Kees.

a classic hps might give 150lumens/w but only about 33% of the light a regular hps emits is usable for your plants. fluorescents and plasma and stuff give more 'usable' light

WEll...at least I'm a little more educated than I was when I arrived. Thanx for the info...and one of these days the price will probably come down with use and distribution. How detectible are these things...also? I love this place.

So how are the tests going Doc?

I have been approved for my Medical MJ card that will be coming in the next few weeks. The State has 15 daze to get it to me by law :smoke

I love the 30000hr bulb if it truely gets that much life.

I have wierd temps all the time so how is the heat in those little cabinets working out? Would it work with a 8 plant waterfarm system with one in between 4 buckets and then one on each end?

Kind like this

.:.:.:.:.

I can't center it in the picture but you get my drift B)

Sorry for so many question but you know, I got into the stash mon :verrygood

I thought I seen somewhere that it said only a 90 degree angle off the light and not a 360* or was that the tube?

Testing on life material will start as soon as possible.

It will take some more weeks.

I keep you guys updated. :verrygood

Prawn,

I though that the tubular Plasma would appeal to you.By the looks of things you could veg a Sativa until about 5 feet, at the end of flowering it could be about 7 feet, so although there would be slighly less Lumens as measured against a HPS, you will have greater light coverage, so surely more bud. I mean imagine 4 sativas 7 feet tall in a vertical grow!

What kind of temps do these things run at? Does the tube come in different sizes?

C'mon Doc! How the grow going? Which model of lamp are you using?

our lab samples will arrive in a few weeks, we have to sign a non disclosure agreement for the use of the equipment but I expect that we will be able to share results with you soon. We will report about the reference grows now taking place. Tests so far are about lighting quality to start with, not efficiency. I doubt if Plasma will be very efficient to start with.
