sannie 3,339 Report post Posted August 2, 2009 After years of growing in my standard set-up with 2 x 600 watt it became time to do something completely different. the former grow room is RIP and we build a brand new one Let me introduce to you : Sannie's Pleasure dome The set up contains 2 secret jardin (dr80) tents, size = 80 x 80 x 160 cm As you can see we already put all the pipe's and stuff on there place. A 20 cm that connects to 2 x 12,5 cm pipe These pipe's are going to a 1500 m3 box fan that is blowing in a 1500 m3 scrub,in this way i dont need any scrubs in the small tents and i am sure that it is as quite as possible. When all is on its place we closed it with panels so there is no visual growing here hahaha The 2 tents are standing in a double bottom which prevent the light coming in but sure of getting in enough fresh air. On the bottom there are big hole's where the air can get in,for those hole's we putted special black filter stuff that prevent light is coming in. Then it was time for fun hanging in the plasma's was not a easy task but we made a nice platform for the lamps to hang on (thanks to whazzup). The lamp contains 3 parts. The lamp and the magnetron are hanging in the tent, and the driver is outside the tent. I decided to use 4 x 30 liter buckets which will provide me enough soil for each plant and be sure each plant will have enough soil to buffer. I am using the last half year light mix from KJ products and was realy satisfied about it, BUT i dont like the perlite that was used in there so doc made a special badge for sannie to see if this will fit the bill better The standard recipe for sannie is mixing some fungie thru the soil and put in a buffer tablet in each 5 liter of soil, this has proven to be a real winner and i need to be sure in this set up that this part is coverd. Putted them around 20 cm in the soil cause these buckets are quite high Watering the buckets with plane water and some sannie's bacto I leave the buckets with a covered top for around a week to get some life started already in the soil I am waiting for the clones to get some roots and in the meanwhile i just put in some mothers and fathers that where standing outside, also some clone's in a propagator to suply myself some decent clones to work with. Also i am germing some seeds and all these just to see what these lights will do with my plants. There seems to be a fair bit of UV in these lights presence and i have been told that the plants should feel the same as in the high hymalaya's Lets see how a sulphur plasma lamp will start : It has been fun so far and i hope the lamps will bring what we like to see Cause these lamps are just to expensive at the moment this will be a grow journal without any intrest in selling these lamps,BUT we like to know what we can do with these lights and the only way to do this is by growing with it. I want to thanks Gavita and Doc for giving me the opurtunity to work with these lamps. A special thanks for Knutsel who helped me with building this pleasure dome. Whazzup thanks for helping and maybe you can chim in with some hardcore info and graphics ? As i said i am waiting for the clones to get roots and in the meanwhile i just have to wait and think things over which plant i want in there. For sure is that one tent is for making seeds and one dome is for smoking gear. Stay tuned greetz sannie

Hashcraver 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2009 I'll be making up the popcorn in just a few and I get the couch this time After watching the utube stuff, are you going to crank up the lamps to full on or are you going to let the plants get used to it in stages? I think they stopped equal to 1350 watts I think.

blackone 0 Report post Posted August 3, 2009 Nice man I remember when there was a lot of talk about sulphur plasma a couple of years ago - never saw any grows with them and it kinda died out. It's great to see something is happening there - would love to hear more specifics about the lamp. This is gonna be an interesting watch for sure.

Whazzup 529 Report post Posted August 5, 2009 for the tech savvies: 18.300 lumen, 5.300K colortemp with a CRI of 95, 0-100% in 30 seconds, re-fire in 60 seconds. Spectrum: (We have the lamp with the black line) It's not an AGRI light btw, but as the spectrum is very wide (close to that of the sunlight) we experiment with growing under it. For greenhouses the HPS is more suitable as the blue light the plants get from the light outside is more than enough. Interesting thing is the high UV levels: please wear sunglasses using these as levels are very high, like in the high mountains of the himalaya. Normally these light will be used behind glass (that blocks UV radiation). It is currently built in 3 pieces: - power supply (28V, 9A) - Microwave (driver) - Emitter (microwave chamber with plasma cell) Q's? fire away!
shdowlkr 1 Report post Posted August 5, 2009 Q's? fire away! Way to far over my head to fathom any questions right now But Im down to watching these things grow some MJ! Grats Sannie and best of luck!
sannie 3,339 Report post Posted August 6, 2009 As promised some picture's from the mothers under the SP. A over view from the plants that are stanidng in there for the moment,as you can see all the "older leave's are complete yellow and will fall off in time. The new shoots are real deep green and showing some adjustment issue's. I putted in also some seeds to see what a seedling will do when its born under this light They are looking real nice You can see here a very tight internode building that is caused by the big part blue that is pressent in this lamp. We where a bit worried in the beginning but it is looking good now and while it is 30 C here at the moment it is 2 degrees warmer in the tent and that is not that bad for the moment The clone's still dont show any signs of roots so is till have to wait before i can get realy started, but is a learning experience so far greetz sannie

sannie 3,339 Report post Posted August 12, 2009 It was time to fill in the tents with the clone's which i choose'd : First i make small hole's in the soil and sprinkle some fungie around the roots to be sure i have a colony as soon as possible Nice rooted clone's The 4 jackberry's in the soil Soil covere'd with white foil to prevent the soil vaprorise to much and reflecting the light instead of absorbing it This sulphur plasma lamps are doing the same thing with youre clone's as the sun does when you put youre clone's outside when they are to small : Because of this i put some dome's over the plants to get them thru the first day's/week The left side with the Jackberry: The right side with the K.O kushe's The plants are doing fine beside they are looking a bit yellow at the moment, but i am waiting till the roots will fill in the buckets and they can take care of the plant.Time will tell more greetz sannie
