I got very lucky and a new friend invited me over when he received his analog Volcano vape and I must say I was extremely impressed. I took some schwag with me however he assured me the vape would bring out the best of whats there. So he warmed up the vape and explained how he ordered it from Germany and was so happy he could quit smoking. The build quality is outstanding, and the highly polished steel looks really cool and very solid, haha but my OCD was just thinking about the fingerprints.

Then he showed me the solid valve and explained the advantages which are : it allows you to customise the balloon size and apparently with regular cleaning can last for years. Since this was my first real experience with a vape I cant say which is better the solid or easy valve but my preference would be the solid valve. My kind friend began to crush some herb while I had a look at what the kit came with. The first thing I noticed was the nice little brush in the kit for easy cleaning, then there was some spare screens, also some pads for liquid and a neat acrylic grinder. The power cable for the Volcano was long enough to not have to worry about tripping over it but this is definately not portable.

By now the bud was in the vape and the balloon filled up really fast, he takes the balloon off and offers me the first pull. WOW, this is something I have never experienced before so smooth and light on your lungs, it almost feels like nothing is coming out. But then you breathe out and taste flavours in the bud that I have never tasted in a bong or pipe, the strain was local swazi and had a very minty taste. <_<

I have a huge smile on my face now and my friend is already filling another bowl for himself, after a few more balloons I feel a very strong soaring sativa head high with lots of energy. He then starting pulling out all these different strains as we compared the tastes and played around with the temperature settings and eventually settled on around 5. I noticed that if the temp was on about 7 or 8 the vape would get a popcorn taste and can be quite harsh on the lungs. Another positive is I noticed he was saving all the bud that came out the vape and he said you can use the leftovers mixed with some fresh bud to make some real potent cannabutter.

The only complaint I would have there are no official parts from Volcano that allow you to use a whip (pipe) however I have seen some homemade options which let you use a whip. The nice thing about a whip is you fill the bowl and then take pulls when you feel like it but with the balloons you need someone to take care of filling and removing it so if you get too stoned the balloons could become alot of effort. So my overall impression was I need to get one of these for myself, it is 398 euros but when you see and feel the quality and precision that went into building it you will see that its money well spent. I think with good care and cleaning habits this vape could last a lifetime. Here is a link to the offical Volcano store http://www.storz-bickel.com/shop_eur/produ...-VALVE-Set.html

I love my Iolite Vaporizer. It is selling for $250 retail $125 in the wholesale catalog if ya got a bud in the biz and if ya got sum budz ya should have a bud.

The Iolite runs on butane and is fired up by pushing a button that creates a spark so no batteries to die. It holds about 4 puffs for me. The thing is hand held and kind looks like it should be there just can't figure out what it is. It is smoke free if you turn it off after about 4 puffs, if you keep going it will over heat and create smoke and smell. I use mine at the local bar, sit right up and order a cold one and enjoy. I always offer my barmaid

a puff after her shift so long as her bloke ain't around(remember to be stealthy).

Disadvantages are that it can over heat. It doesn't turn itself off and that could be hard to remember when you are stoned. You must wait for it to finish cycling after you turn it off, I would suggest keeping it out for 5 minutes or so before stashing it, don't wanna stick it in your jeans and burn anything!

I had one of these given to me brandnew and am not really impressed with it and would rather stick to rolling one up, the vaporizer takes all the excellent kind bud taste away IMO

All i can say is that i love my Arizer's Extreme Q. It really made a difference when it comes to my health, especially for my sinuses and throath. I've been smoking cannabis for about 12 years now and i'm not going back 2 smoking, that's for sure.

I love the taste and the aroma, plus i need much less to get myself where i wanna be, hehe.

PEACE

I bought the "Vapor Genie" 3/4 months ago for $55.00. I looked at many, many kinds before I decided on this one. As of now--I still can't get it to work right! It has to be really hot before you get anything an then can't tell if got it or not! It has a really small bowl an doesn't hold much. Wish I had my $$$$$$ back! This is the one I bought. Here is the link if anyone wants to see details: http://www.vapornation.com/store/Other-Vaporizers/Vapor-genie-vaporizer.html

@LiL ACE

I have no experience with Vapor Genie but...have you tried using a torch lighter? As far as web reviews go, it should work with a normal lighter just fine but maybe you're not getting it hot enough.

Peace :)

Analog Volcano here. I first tried it at Cannabis college in 2004. I used one at the Willie Wortels Indica in Haarlem that trip, too. I bought one as soon as I got back. It was amazing how little weed you use and how much higher you get from a given amount. Being analog it's built like a tank and should outlive the newer digital version by a long time. I do like the temperature reading of the digital version, though. But that's just something extra that can go bad. After 9 years of frequent use, it's still working fine.

Hey Indi, I've been using the Arizer for nearly 3 years now and love it. Very simple and easy to use with either a whip or bag. They are well made too, in Canada I believe.

I am sorry to say but comparing a Arizer with a Vulcano is in my eyes not a fair talk.

Have then side by side for 4 years now and no the Arizer is not on the same level like the Vulcano (Dense of the vap/the feeling it give).

gallery_20039_11929_1948813.jpg

Here proof so no fanboy talk.

I not saying the Arizer is bad but comparing is like comparing a cheap led with a Gavita light.

The glass of the Arizer is really bad Q (Have photo`s for proof just shout) The vent power is just like a fly.

Hey zood i respect that resonse! But I also trust beach bud, and if youve had it four years, i would think maybe an upgrade or two? The guy i talked to, from the store in canada, I told him price wasnt an issue because at the moment im goin thru 3 packs of papers weekly. At $250 a pack, eventually anything I buy will pay for itself. The dude who coulda said then by all means, go with the volcano. But he said all the options on the extreme q makes it the best option for home use...now I trust your volcano is better, no reason for me to doubt you. But I spoke to this gentleman quite awhile n he and even his staff suggested the extreme q. Now the site im ordering from, they are throwing in every accessory available with the extreme q, so maybe thats the bonus. Plus I smoke alone and would rather have the whip than the balloon...i dont think the volcano has that. Regardless, $179 compared to I think $599...Thats alot of seed money i could use ;)

I've got an analog Volcano, and it's the only vaporizer I've used. It took a long time to get to like it as much as smoking, so whatever you buy, give it a chance.

The reason I got a Volcano over anything else was that no matter who you ask, it's the best one for the quality of the experience. A year from now, whatever amount you spend on whichever vaporizer you get will be meaningless to you. With this in mind, I didn't want to end up buying the second best, only to eventually buy the fucking Volcano on top of it.

One thing I find is that vaping misses the "low end" of the effects of Cannabis. This might take a LOT of getting used to for an indica kind of guy.

You can still cough with a vap when you have it set on higher temps. There is some irritation, but if you have a cough from smoking too much weed, it goes away if you stick to vaporizing only. But no, I have never gotten that powerful smack to the forehead like you do when you do a hit of a high quality indica dom. It will put you down if you do a balloon full, but the effect is not as instantaneous.

My brother recently got a Pax and swears by it, but like me, he's a sativa man. He likes it for the stealth, as well. You can grab a hit in nearly any location, and only someone who also vapes would know the odor.

My outdoor grown Chucky's Bride is a bit harsh, probably because it didn't get much rain the last couple of weeks it was in the ground, so I've been mostly vaping that. Whatever the "harshness substances" in Cannabis are, they don't seem to go off into the vapor at vaporizer temperatures.

Het Vito, I knew your point exactly...you wouldnt have it out if you didnt have a use for it..and I know you do alot of vaping n shit, so your opinion is definitely valued...The value of the extreme q is hard to beat, ive looked everywhere for a cheaper price on the volcano...alot of shit I could do with $600! I could get 4-1000watt ballasts n buy as many volcanos as id ever want! This is a subject Ive had goin back n forth in my mind a couple mths now..Maybe someone could let me use a demo for like 3 months for review...;) Let me smoke a morning kronicaine joint....helps me think better..well not better but....hell, yesterday I got ZERO ACCOMPLISHED after wake n baking with kronicaine...Goddamn if you guys havent ever tried it, I think I prefer it overanasthesia...taste is better, this one especially. Its a fruity hazey pheno...very little heri influences...Im still a die hatd indica lover, but the varieties of tastes and size of plants, I need that....ok, rant over...smokin now!

The pax is a personal size vape, small and convenient, good for on the go. I also noticed that Kees started the thread after I posted that, sorry Kees the Mad. The pax is awesome, it was not cheap, around $250, but well worth it. The packaging says " designed in San Francisco , made in China . It is nice and simple , well designed and easy to use

I have 2 vaporizers. However, it should also be stated that in no way have I given up combustion. For some reason, I still fell like I get something different from smoking over vaping. I seem to get in these phases where I like to Vape, then I get phases where I want that smoke.

In terms of tools, I have the Hot Box and an Omicron (oils).

The Hot Box is nice, works well and I can get some decent clouds. Has a little bit of a learning curve, but does the job. I think I paid about $150 USD. Not the most convenient unit, as you have to wait about 3-5 minutes before using, so it has a warm up. It is durable and I have had mine for a couple years and works as if it was new. No maintenance other than cleaning the glass. It uses a whip for delivery. My only knock on the vaporizer is it seems to me that everything has a very similar taste when vaped. Its a nice taste, but nothing like I get when I smoke.

The Omicron is nice for oils Can get some OK clouds, but I think I am still learning how to use this thing right. Its nice and stealthy, and can hold about .5 gram oil. The wife has taken it and made it hers. I have challenges with this as some oils can be thick and I find myself having to heat up the chamber to get the go to the heating element.

I am currently looking at the DaVinci Ascent for flowers, has anyone got an feedback on that unit? Is it worth it?

Update, I now possess 3 vaporizers. I broke down and got the Ascent.

It is a nice tool indeed, though still running back to my bong/lighter combo, so I can get that Smack I so yearn for. Something different about vaping, its probably just me and a mental thing.

Initial feedback on the Ascent, I got the all black stealth unit, and got around 3 weeks ago. Read though so many pages on boards and watched countless reviews. I knew the risk going in that they are still early in their designs.....

Overall I am happy with it, although my battery is only holding charge for about 1 hour and I have a service request on this (they advertise 3 hour life), I can get about 4 15/20 minute sessions, still waiting to get next steps from DaVinci (about 2+ weeks waiting on response),

However, it has an all glass vapor path, nice sized bowl approx 1g, removable stem for easy cleaning, and the ability to fine tune the temperature, which is what I wanted. I really wanted a tool that could handle everything, and give me the control to dial in for what I am doing.

It vapes great and the vaped material is the most broken down I have ever seen from a device. I have seen Pax ABV and the ABV from the Divinci is far more done, you feel, confident there is nothing left. Unlike my hotbox, which I usually can recycle the ABV and get some lowgrade hash for cooking. This stuff is a powdery consistency when done and it could not be recycled. IMO.

It vapes the shit out of whatever I put in there, straight flower runs great, although if you are running extracts, I think you have to mix flower to get best melt. I have run KO Kush, Chuckys Bride and Chocolate Rain, and all are great in this. Actually got really spaced one night with the rain on my brain that I had to put it down, which was a first for me and vaping.

I have also ran Kif and bubble hash (crumbled, not pressed) mixed with flowers. This works really well when you balance the load. Most recently I tried a bowl with small amount of flower on bottom then complete bubble with some flower on top, it burned forever (20-30+ pulls, killed the battery, recharged and kept going), it tasted like burnt shit after a while and the remnants from that were like it had burned but with no ash. Some of the bubble did not fully bake, and I was able to salvage that in a bong, after I fished out the few chunks. Overall I was pleased with the results, however, I dont think I will be going that overboard again, due to the harsh taste at the end. It was worth the experiment.

Finally this vaporizer also comes with 2 glass jars for running oils. I have not tried it myself, but read many reports about whispy vape hits, I will let you know as I am going to run some BHO soon. I have an Omiicron and honestly not all that impressed with the "clouds". I much more prefer my rig with TI platter, talk about clouds, never ever ever hit a vaporizer that can deliver like the torch on plate.

They also sell a bong kit, I recommend getting that if you have a glass on glass. Go with the J shape as it holds the vape upright the way it should be.

Even though I have the battery issue I am contending with, I would recommend this portable vape to anyone that asked.

....Now if I could just believe I get the same experience from vape as I do from smoke, I would beat the vape drum more....

Hope this helps some of you

I love my plenty.

Unlike other vapes it has very few parts and is as easy to get ready as packing a bowl.

Simply open the chamber that holds your herbs, grind em up, throw them in, close the chamber, attach to the plenty and away you go!

It honestly does not get more simple that that when it comes to vapes.

Cleaning is also a breeze, as there are only 4 pieces in total to clean and they are easily cleaned with a bit of rubbing alcohol.

All in all, I couldnt be happier with the Plenty, it produces the thickest, most consisitently pleasurable vapor I have ever experienced and I have basically tried them all at least once. Suffice to say that the Plenty is a winner in my book : )

If I didnt cover anything or you guys have any question, fire away!
