Chocolate Berry Feminised

Recommended Posts

Well this will be my diary for the chocolate berry as bred by Eskobar. Firstly big thanks to Sannie and Eskobar (and knutsel) for producing these beans and for the over generous amount of freebies that came with my order. The seedling went in on 22/2/11 and is struggling to throw out secondary leaves (ie cotleydons, 2 leaves then its starts to struggle). Unperturbed by this, as we all get a naughty seed now and then, Ive planted the other 4 beans today. Not really any action here yet but Id be glad of any advice when growing this strain as I have found some of sannies beans to be very light on feeding. Heres the blurb on the strain.

"The first Female F1 hybrid is ready. A selected Cocoa Kush female clone was polinated with FM True Blueberry pollen.

This true female sativa F1 hybrid is develloped with a inovative new method. Chocolate Berry is a easy growing octopus branched sativa like plant that flowers around 11 weeks. Like many of eskobars crosses/projekts, these plants like a low nute regime.

Chocolate Berry can be growed in SOG but with sativa dominant hybrids like this she wont mind if you put here in SCROG, she is easy to handle.

A must have for taste and sativa fanatics"

Heres the pics and some nice music from my friend Atonga Zimba.

Okey guys without me confusing matters and me over taking the thread, thanks JWF for letting me post these pics,. This plant is SAGE,Big Sur Holy phenotype, and NOT ChocoBerry, but none the less we are on about bloom times in Sativas, this took 21, weeks bloom after a 3 week veg which was totally un -necessary at the time (but idn't expect this),I expected some Indica Influences, 21 weeks bloom this took just under 5 months for god sakes :) still I kind of did my best to like leave her in the back ground, did my best to forget about her :) and carried on with the rest that I has blooming, it was worth the wait and yes its was off 250 watts too :) Here goes.

I had to pull it out of my Cabby to take some gud shots,

The stretch was X'3 + :) except for the bloom times it was well wort hit, I think the next best thing would be Blueberry Sativa, 12/12 from seed or something similar with a veggy time in a scrog, if U request any more Sage pics in detail, jst giz a shout, thanks for letting me share, and lets hope we get something as good yield wise with the ChocoBerry. One thing I'd like to say about the SAGE weed, when dried and cured it had the old Jamaican brown brick weed look to it, and it made us very happy last summer, so for extra bloomer's a reward like I had is worthit, do U catch my drift :) so lets hope them extra weeks compared 8-9wk to a 11, weeker is worthit :) If I could get the same with a shorter bloom time like 11 weeks with the same yield that would be talking business, it wasn't the growth that was slow it was the maturation toward harvest she had like 5 day's in total darkness to bronze up the trics which she did :)

Wow thats a hell of a long time flowering but very nice results especially for a 250w. I hadnt even considered how sativa these chocolate berry plants are but looking at wietforum I see some crazy grows. Good news on these so far with 100% germination rate. Theyre a little slow to get off the mark but seem happy enough. Also heres a herijuana X big white which was a freebie. This little thing looks more like a little white. It was planted from seed on 23/1/11 and put straight into 12/12 on 16/2/11 and so far its staying short with hardly any stretch. Theres a picture of it next to a standard mobile phone for scale and my amusement.

Hey no worrie's them pic are sound brother ;) I can still tell, can i try give u a lillte tip :icecool , u can always get a second opinion but the pot/media look a liltle too wet for the seedlings to spread out its roots searching for water, they dont like as much wqater at early stage 1 watering once the seedling is placed in medium and thats it completely till obviously it gets light again, U can always spray the seed;ling every day a, and maybe be very thinly keep the top layer moist with the sprayer but use water at these stages very sparingly and u will see ;) the very first 2 weeks when seeds germinate they need the just right amount of water for them to develope into nice plants, more than often less water for first 2 weeks so them roots can do some searching, dont get me wrong the soil does need moisture but not being wet, and at times your soil looks a little wet ;) ;) and this will suffocate the poor bby seedling and cause it some problems like already shown on one of the pics, also can I mention seedlings do not need ANY FOOD FOR FIRST 3 WEEKS from seed, if not longer depends on the plant and how well u can read it ;) .U will find that theirs probably nothing wrong with the products u are using its how u use them, and when u apply them that counts as u may already now. Dont compare the chocoberry with that SAGE man, it was just an example of bloom times ;) All the best with the seedlings and let them pots dry up if they are heavilyish wet :P Sorry if I'm sounding a little up mu own arse JWF, I dunno is it me ;) anyway no harm done only tring the best.

Thanks for the tips Bodderas, I am a bit keen with the watering can. The soil these were started in was reused isn't too good. Today I potted the seedlings up, not because they needed it, to allow them better soil and also they're the final pots and 4 of them have gone in 12/12. All got a dash of mychorrizal. Few reasons for putting them 12/12 so early; Ive seen what monsters these can grow into and I just want to keep them small and manageable. I'm keeping 1 in veg for later flowering. Also Im impatient to see these girls grow. I was tad stoned when taking the pictures and forgot no. 5. Also up there is the herijuana x big white and she seems happy enough although there's something very phallic about it. Some of pics were taken under hps so plants look yellow but they are nice green.

Hi Gnome,

thanks for popping in. I'm undecided with the airpots. I think they have potential but they do require watering more often than conventional pots. Im going to try them in the garden with my hibiscus bush this summer. So will give a verdict then I think.

The chocolate berries haven't stretched much so far which is good for me. They haven't shown sex yet so they are still in vegetative stage under 12/12. The big white/herijuana is looking a happy plant and nice and short and stout.

Thanks for the comments all. Chocolate Berry cookies would be a great advancement for all mankind Weedstiti.

Well have been away for a while so the plants got watered before I left and Ive only got back today so some are looking a little droopy. I had mites before I left so I got some plant vitality + and its done the job. One chocolate berry is still in veg, 1 went fluffies on 1/4/11 so thats the flower start for that one. The other 3 havent shown sex or fluffies so I bent 1 tonight in order to encourage more top colas. The herijuana x big white is happy sharing its airpot with a tomato and some worms and doesnt seem to be complaining.

hey jwf, i think your one plant has a phosphorous deficiency. The chocolate berry i grew out had quite a bit of variation between them all, esko does mention they're f1's, so I had to feed each plant differently.

Yeps, u are right on this one.

Its a Female Hybrid, but ... to actually say they need different nute taktiks? no.

They get all the same from me, every and every plant that passes me.

5.6 ph and ec 1.4 to 1.6 every 3 days, from day 1 clones are planted.

The plants i see are burned, to high nute level. Probably not from the last week, but to high nutes have hit the younger plants. Heavy soil? what did you mix?

That is what u see right now. The leaf tips are crumbling off.

Thanks all for the replies. Very grateful for you taking the time out to answer my question. Im growing in soil which is for seeds and cuttings from local garden centre. Its well draining but maybe a bit hot as Ive given no feed so far from seed. I havent got ec/ppm meter or ph so cant really comment on that, I know thats probably where the problem lies. Ill just feed water for now. It maybe because I saturated them before my holiday so they didnt dry out. The chocolate berry looks a monster when left to veg. Heres my veg one I forgot to post yesterday. Its been topped, picked out and supercropped in order to keep it small. Have no idea when Ill have room to flower this one but she might just get a huge pot and the growroom all to herself if I like the smoke from her sisters. Once again thanks all.
