soopy 38 Report post Posted June 7, 2011 Looks great Saxo! You have single-handedly got me interested in autos, after seeing your Lowryder pics. So are these from the same stock as those in your bud-shots? I am very tempted to run some autos outside this year. Thanks for sharing, you have me inspired! soopy 38 Report post Posted June 9, 2011 Awesome pics. So, i have a few questions about the reversing process when using autos. When does the STS treatment begin and on whom? Are you ( or the breeder) starting with fem seeds and then just reversing the one with desirable traits to be the "father", I would asume you could only base that descision on veg growth patterns and smell, as they are autos and can't be cloned to test the end product and revisited, as it were. When do you spray the "father"? It just seems so crazy to me that such amazing looking flowers are coming from autoflowering plants. When I hear "autoflowering" I think of a problem or a mistake, a trait that seems unlikely to carry consistancy AND potency along for the ride. I also find it crazy that you can't keep a clone of a favorite plant! Seeds everytime! So to stay self sufficient one would have to make a couple seed runs to keep enough seeds fur future runs. Sorry for the ramble, great thread. You got skills man.
saxo 12,599 Report post Posted June 9, 2011 Dank U well,Blowsterke at this stage there is to see progress every day the smallest one and the bigest one..... Thanks for your interest, soopy we did it more simple as you´re thinking... we had some runs with regular LR to check it out.the plants came out good, without any hermis ,so we decided to STS them. we sprayed a female plant right after the first pistils were shown, then she started to develop male flowers. after this a other female plant get dusted with the "fem" pollem. thats it seems,we got a big load of luck to get such nice results with the LowRyders, other strains with the same STS-Treatment did not came out as nice as the LR´s we got about 200 beans out of this...but unfortunatly they slowly running out,so we should try again making new seeds !! soopy 38 Report post Posted June 9, 2011 Ahh, I see. I often make things more complicated than they need to be! It seems the Joint Doctor did a mighty fine job with the Lowryder line if it gives results like that when femmed and what-not. I love little tents too, I have a DR60, 60mm x 60mm for my mother plants during the summer. A new meaning to Summer Auto Shows!
saxo 12,599 Report post Posted June 13, 2011 june 13: today they get fed for the first time with "Hesi Bloom Complex"....... the first half is done, they are 20cm -40cm "tall" and got a nice budding and good vigor(except the two little Mutants)... so they just have to fill up with buds during the following month ..... So are these from the same stock as those in your bud-shots? I am very tempted to run some autos outside this year. Thanks for sharing, you have me inspired! Wow Saxo, the same goes for me, I was very unsure about autoflowering strains, is it possible to order a 10 pack of seeds and then use the STS method to get a much larger supply of seeds for future grows? The thing I love about these autos is the weather I have here would be perfect to grow these about 9 months a year. Also very discreet
saxo 12,599 Report post Posted June 16, 2011 yes. as long as they get no Hermis,it should work...it´s the same,we did! NO WARRANTY!! We did it also with NL #2. It was working(100% fem,no Hermi),but we got not the same NL,we had bevor. they were different ( Growth, Look, Buds, Taste, High ) to the NL-cut we used to STS. LR seems to respond better to the STS-Methode...we gonna do it again, after we´ll see,if it works well or if we just had a Lucky Punch with this LR´s Oh ja,ZA have perfect Weather for growing...wish we had Summer whole year long too
rampageZA 8 Report post Posted June 16, 2011 Thanks Saxo I might be trying this STS method with lowryder and a fast bud and hopefully wont get any hermies. Yeh with the great weather I have I'd be able to put these outside and with minimal effort grow some nice auto buds
