FoolOnTheHill

Shackzilla, Sugar punch and New Blue Diesel

Recommended Posts

Hi fellow open growers,

I got an early christmas present this year, and couldn't wait to try them.

gallery_1115_3541_166959.jpg

The New blue diesel was planted one day earlier, and was above the soil after two days.

The other ones took a litlle longer.

I noticed that the first leafs of the Shackzilla were much narrower then on the other two plants, at the time of birth.

I see on the labels that the Diesel and the Shack are feminised.

I read that the Sugarpunch and Shackzilla have SuperSilverHaze in them, I couldn't be more happier with that.

They will be in a small cabin with a 250HPS, nothing spectacular. But I might take clones for next year's outdoor season if I like the result.

Meanwhile in the living room:

Bye,

FOTH

Good luck FotH. I sampled some Shackzilla a couple of months ago -- WONDERFUL strain. I intended to pop some around now, but I had to go with some shorter flowering strains instead. A sativa haze with just enough indica in it to make you know it's there. I will have to pop one or two this summer for outdoor.

Hello FoolOnTheHill,

I'll follow your grow as I have 1 SP at 3 weeks of veg.

How long do you plan to veg them?

Good Vibes,

Magic

Best of luck FOTH, 3 plants a la Sannie style?

I hope the New Blue Diesel doesn't get overwelmed by the Shackzilla and Sugarpunch ;)

Thanks Misterdirt. SativaHaze? Can't wait to see the first signs of that!

I think it will be a short veg, Magic, as I have limited height, and seedlings usually take the time they need, anyway.

A scary moment yersterday, the Sugarpunch was hanging down.

I supported the stem with some soil, gave it some TLC and today it looks like it's recovering.

Shackzilla already cleary in second position already, Bazz F.

They'll be in small pots, as there are more plants in my cabin at the moment.

First I want to get a feel for hem, taste them, and compare them.

But I'll keep clones, and put favorites outdoor.

Here's a picture for you, Lexn:

New Blue Diesel, the leader of the pack!

Do I see trichomen on that leaf alread?

Stay tuned while I go fit the macro lens!

I topped the New Blue Diesel after the fourth node.

I noticed something wrong with a "third node" leaf:

gallery_1115_3541_346054.jpg

One of the fingers didn.t develope properly, and I say a light green stain on one of the other fingers.

More later.

Looks like a case of dwarf leaflet syndrome. When that happens to me, I first evacuate the neighborhood before setting up powerful gamma ray emitters to destroy all life within a 500 meter radius. Works like a charm. ;)

Another time I ignored the small leaflet. The plant grew and produced some outstanding buds, but whenever I smoked them, I thought about that tiny leaflet. It was hard, but I got over it.

Well, here's a little update.

The NewBlueDiesel grows well and branched nicely.

gallery_1115_3541_416735.jpg

Yesterday I took a branch off, now that's a clone, In case I want to grow her again.

gallery_1115_3541_491708.jpg

The Shackzilla was decapitated a few days ago:

gallery_1115_3541_292576.jpg

Waiting for her to make branches, then I'll also try to clone her.

Bye.

Here's the update.

Not a great picture, but for the record,

gallery_1115_3541_108467.jpg

NewblueDiesel stretched and makes buds.

The bottom leaf showed me a problem that I corrected.

The Shackzilla is still taking it easy, but has a "biological calender" that is three till 4 weeks longer.

I still think she'll be the tallest at the end.

I still wait for enough growt in the branches to cut a clone off her.

Temperature was a bit low in my clone-box, so it took a while, but the NBD has rooted:

gallery_1115_3541_79020.jpg

I already pinched the head out, a few days ago, and I planted her in a small pot today, and will keep her onder the dome in the clone-box for a few more because humidity is very low here at the moment, but with the top vent slides open.

I'll try to zoom in on the flowers next time, it's 21 days now, so trichs should come...

See you later.

I didn't know there was one, Blowsterke.

If you have a picture, beam it up!

I hope she will be leaning towards the Supersilverhaze parent.

We'll see.

Enjoy your weekend too.

Not much happenig above the soil, but roots come out of the bottom of the pot of the NewBlueDiesel clone:

So I gave her a bigger pot, and some veg nutes.

Bye.

Here's a picture of the NBD today:

gallery_1115_3541_7286.jpg

She's got very long hairs.

A bit further down:

gallery_1115_3541_271171.jpg

Trichomen are coming.

And the bud looks a but pinkish, deep inside the bud.

So I had a closer look:

If my eyes don't deceive me, there are some coloured calyxes.

Great!

A little update:

gallery_1115_3541_125339.jpg

With only one day difference in seeding, there is about a month difference in age visable.

The New Blue Diesel is about half way done,

Shackzilla still enjoys her youth, the first flowers just begin to show now.

In the growroom I try to keep their heads at the same level:

gallery_1115_3541_6236.jpg

And I bet Shackzilla will be taller next week.

The beast is unleashed!

The clone of New Blue diesel is doing well.

gallery_1115_3541_39593.jpg

Next month I'll decide if I want to grow her again, in- or outdoors, or not at all.

The clone of the Shackzilla is still taking it easy, just like the seedling.

But still looks fresh and green, so I expect some roots soon.

Bye.

A little update on the shackzilla clone.

Yesterday evening I spotted a tiny root,

today there are three.

gallery_1115_3541_27078.jpg

So a little pot of soil and a treatment just like the NBD-clone.

And under the dome for another day.

The Shackzilla seedling grew about an inch last night, I take a picture when the NBD and SZ have the same height.

Bye.

The Shackzilla seedling started to drink much more lately.

I changed the floppy 3.5 liter pot for a stiff 5 liter pot today.

The roots were holding all the soil, so no problem transplanting.

It might give some extra stretch, but I don't mind.

For the record.

Here's picture I took two days ago.

gallery_1115_3541_414523.jpg

I like the way the Shackzilla unfolds, and shows more body now.

And i'm also pleased with the NBD buds.

The pink/purple colouring started at the lowest lowest buds, and works it's way up.

It now reached the bottom of the head cola.

gallery_1115_3541_466245.jpg

Here's a picture of the clones.

To make it look at least a little scientific, I added a prop.

gallery_1115_3541_6598.jpg

NBD vegging nicely, and young Sz doing fine.

Have a nice weekend.

Shackzilla today:

gallery_1115_3541_397950.jpg

It's about 65 cm high (2 feet and two inches), and still about 2 inch (5cm) shorter then the NBD.

Here's an overhead view:

gallery_1115_3541_840.jpg

She didn't stretch after going to the bigger pot.

But shows more body.

Smoking the New Blue Diesel will probably be an appetizer before I take down this monster.

In a few weeks there will be much more space in the grow cabin, so I might repot her again.

Stay tuned!

I'm glad you like the way they look, Sannie.

Thanks for stopping by.

Last time I grew something blue, it was the Blue Hammers, I think.

This NBD is the total opposite.

But the same colour as on of the hammers.

Here's a lower bud of the NewBlueDiesel:

gallery_1115_3541_5983.jpg

Above that there's a nice hairy "pine cone".

gallery_1115_3541_114721.jpg

Maybe I should slow down on the nutes a little.

The brown leaf tips tells me she's at the max.

gallery_1115_3541_292955.jpg

Happy Valentine's day.
