Likes to all above. It's nice to be among those who knew. Young and adventurous. It really is amazing the shit that was going on then. It may still be, but for the masses, only the watered down version. The thing was, in those days, 60's and 70's, many things weren't on the controlled substance list back then, because the authorities didn't even know what existed.... until we introduced it to them. AH HASH, I send nubile young virgins to dance through my crop and then lovingly scrape it from from their tender flesh, then I throw away the hash, and ravish the virgins

Well, I might toss a little hash and only ravish half of the virgins. After all, they are inexperienced.

btw guys,
how come "no one" grew the 'blue rocket' that was released at the same time as the c99-matings?

I think it was because of all the excitement generated by the C99 project: CB/HP/Boudica. People had to make choices, and not much was said about Blue Rocket. All of a sudden, there were four new Esko selections to choose from. Which to choose:

The one described as having the highest yield?
The one described as "red fruits on speed"?
The one that was the ultimate goal of the c99 project?
Or the one that got almost no discussion at all?

As we've discussed before, Boudica sales suffered because Esko mentioned that it wasn't the most potent strain he's ever produced, whether or not that was actually the case.

All that, plus Prof P was actively belting out the strains and crosses and the NAW guys were just getting started (though I don't think they even called themselves NAW at the time.)

For seed sales, it seems it's better to trickle them out than send out 4 new strains at once. CB and HP generated the most excitement, so two strains at a time seems OK. Then talk up the next strain and put it out a month or two later, etc.

I don't want to refer to the talk about CB/HP/Boudica as "hype," because nothing about talking up those strains could be considered bullshit. But let's face it — we are all influenced by advertising, whether it's word of mouth or through other commercial methods.

While we all know and knew at the time that Esko doesn't put out seeds for sale unless they're something really worthwhile, we just had an abundance of riches at that time, and "the squeaky wheel gets the grease."

If he reintroduced it, Blue Rocket would now fly off the shelf. I think any new Esko offering would, if it appeared right now.

Hash was really popular and easily attainable in the states in the 60's and early 70's. After and around the same time Thai stick started becoming popular, hash started disappearing. I believe it was more to do with public sentiment at the time regarding "hippies" and the war on smuggling began.

And, now, the best hash is the hash that you or someone else makes. At least in the states. Still, there will never be anyone to outshine the original hash makers. I would love to go to Europe just fro the hash. The US is crawling with interesting pot strains and they boggle the mind with the many different aromas and flavors being created. But, hash is nowhere to be found. I'm like Bubbla on the concentrates. They just seem one dimensional in comparison.

There was a major variety of hash to be had in the NYC area during the 70s. The last decent stuff I had, aside from my own hash, was 1980.

The best we got was Nepalese indica hash, followed closely by Afghani and Pakistani. We did get some Lebanese and plenty of Moroccan, but the Lebanese disappeared when Lebanon was in turmoil. The Moroccan varied in quality, and you could tell the shitty stuff by sight, because the grains (trichs, I guess) were larger.

Between the massive amounts of shitty Moroccan, the massive amounts of fine Colombian gold, red and green, and the rise of good domestic reefer, hash lost its customer base.

Those in the NY/New Jersey area in 1976 will remember the sudden appearance of great hash after the "Tall Ships" celebration of Independence Day. Those tall ships carried a lot more than was advertised.

It was Apollo 11 x Esko's Blueberry. I think his blueberry was an f2 refinement of DJ Short's BB.

Wow, surprised it didn't take off. Sounds great.

Thanks for the info Dirt. Sounds similar. I was in the Southeast and the state has a port city. Very good varieties until the Colombian Red/Gold, Thai Stick craze.

At a concert you lit a joint took a hit and passed it on and down it went until gone . But here comes another from the other way.......now if feel like crying I WANT THE 70'S BACK!!!

That's funny, after all of the hash talk here, and after I went to bed last night, I remembered the old cardboard, pin, and glass method. I wanted to make sure I posted it... I forgot already, haaa!

That was one of our most prized ways of smoking because everyone got more. No waste, that's for sure.

Thanks, good memory, there.

my first piece of hash I was 'smoking' like they did in a cheech & chong movie with the piece pierced on a needle and holding it under the nose...it got me high though but I then preferred rolling it then :D

some evenings ago I put some of my own hash in the vaporizer and that shot was great. didn't notice when I flew away after two hours or so I woke up like one does when tripping a dream. my girl was just in that second standing next to me an gave me that 'wtf?!-look' and went to bed again haha
