Guest BrockSamson Report post Posted October 17, 2013 Yo what's up everybody I figured its time to stop lurking the threads and start posting up. So yea starting out my second attempt at my second grow (that made sense right?). My first attempt was plagued with gnats flies and as much as I hate to say it (but its true) a lack of (yes you guessed it) TLC (fuck.....). But anyways made some changes from there and its about time to finally .....move on. Some changes for those who care (I'm talking to you future self (I know you'll read this, and I don't regret eating all that mescaline so fuck you) keep making beneficial changes to the grow room so that you too may GROW.) Grow Room Design -Painted the floor (both rooms) with a white latex epoxy to increase light reflection and decrease cleaning time/ mold probabilities -Sanded and waterproofed all 150-200 (estimated) wooden parts to the scrog cages, also tweeked the design (will make a separate post under grow room design) -New reflective lining and increased security (can't tell otherwise it wouldn't be too secure right?, I guess even saying that I increased security is probably a dumb thing to do, would've been a better idea not to mention security in the first place, but then again it is a given for all grows/ hobbies) Soil -Increased smart pot size to 7 gallons from 5 gallons -Added Canna Coco Coir to the Ocean Forest Mix (original mixed contained perlite, perfect start, symbiosis, prewatered with bacto) -Also using roots organic as a side comparison (with same admixture as the Ocean Forest Mix - the perlite), been hearing good things from other people (shouts out to islayhearts, and baqualin) here on open grow. -HYPOASPIS MILES- these fuck gnat flies up, so yea...i'm using these all the time now -Also increased the selection of genetics (though I doubt the critical mass nor the NYCD, blue cheese are going to stack up against the killing fields, the cheestral, blue heron, and the killah queen X blue hammer) Taking the Oneida Highway to Coirville.... on the way to their usual job -killing shit Popped so far 8 X Blue Heron (regular seeds) 8 X Cheestral (regular seeds) 5 X Killah Queen X Blue Hammer (regular seeds) 5 X NYCD (feminized) 6 X Blue Cheese (feminized) 2 X Critical Hog (feminized) 4 X Critical Mass (feminized) and In November 12 X Killing Fields (feminized)

islayhearts 1,911 Report post Posted October 18, 2013 I am in!!!! Crazy line up you got going there. Room looks super clean and organized, something I need to figure out. Gnats, those little bastards. I used azamax worked well with the seedlings but then like an idiot, I planted seeds in the soil that I treated, killed off about 8 seeds that way before I caught on!! The KF is epic, had a freebie cross that blew me away. Reminds me I still need to order some of those. Best of luck with your forrest ;-)
Guest BrockSamson Report post Posted October 19, 2013 Yea man cleanliness is hard to do when you have so little time. Fucking gnats man, i used the azamax and a shit load more appeared later on, I think I just got a really bad batch of soil, but the hypoaspis miles have been doing work, there's still a few gnats here and there, but they're under control, which I think is going to have to be the theme of this grow, PEST CONTROL (I just now realize how lucky I was with my first grow) I'm legitimately stoked about the Killing Fields, I'm hoping to get some serious yields from 10 of them under 2 1000 watt lights (Amazonian beast bitches). Thanks buddy and best of luck to you on your silverfields X boudica breeding project (if that was a freebee I'd make an order just for that cross)
islayhearts 1,911 Report post Posted October 19, 2013 Thanks buddy and best of luck to you on your silverfields X boudica breeding project (if that was a freebee I'd make an order just for that cross) Just realized today that I have no idea which male plant dropped the flowers. I had both a Boudica and Silverfields in there. 5 females total ( 2 Boud, 3 SF) so who knows what is what really. Also I think if you just have a few gnats flying around the old apple cider vinegar and some dish soap mixed together in a bowl will get most of them.
Guest BrockSamson Report post Posted November 3, 2013 Good news: all the girls have been transplanted looking at another 5 weeks of vegging for these girls. Now is to do some sexing (I made another post in the Know for the starters section on that) Bad news: I placed my killing fields seeds (all 16 of them) in a safe place........now I can't find them. Now I need to pop some seeds or else the room will be running at 73% capacity. Thus (fuck....) the only seeds I have left are the freebees I got from Cannazon and 4 critical mass seeds I saved for just in case. The freebees were -Rosetta Stone F2 -Glo F2 Anybody familiar with these? Not much information online about them. I'm thinking the glo is a cross with the Flo and something else....either way its not Killing Fields. But whatever, fuck it. right?
hiwatt 380 Report post Posted November 3, 2013 Nice start Brock ! The Glo are Grapefruit x Flo made originally by breeder Steeve from ol Spice of life... I was searching this strain some month ago and found some Glo x OG kush by Alpine seeds. Good luck mate...
Guest BrockSamson Report post Posted November 19, 2013 The Glo actually sounds pretty bad ass, and I've read a lot of positive reviews on spice of life seeds. Glo X OG Kush sounds a steal as well. After I washed out a pickle jar with some dishsoap (just to clean it, nothing in the means of pest control) I found 5-6 dead gnats the next morning. But anyways wanted to update this report before I begin training and transplanting. Having a hard time with the whole cloning thing (took 5 clones of KQ X BH and they're all pretty much dead, so I'll have to give cloning another shot tomorrow). Some Glo and Rosetta Stone Seedlings Going to begin flowering mid december, by then I'm thinking these will be monters.
FlaTransplant 132 Report post Posted November 19, 2013 Your Rosetta Stone would seem to be a Brothers Grimm creation (same guys who did Apollo 11 and 13, Cinderella 99 etc) here is what I found on Seedfinder.eu Brothers Grimm - Rosetta Stone Rosetta Stone is a fast-flowering plant with heavy resin production and average yield. It clones remarkably well and is generally an easy plant to work with. It was created by pollinating a unique Ginger-Ale female (Ginger Ale makes the densest nuggets we've ever seen) with a male we've tracked for a long time as a reliable resin-enhancing father. Rosetta Stone is a super potent, wonderfully sweet, fruity smelling, perfectly balanced Sativa/Indica hybrid. A definate keeper in any connoisseurs garden. Flowering: 50-55 days Height: 120 cm. Yield: 1-2 lb. per 1000W lamp "Princess has a sister I call "Cafe' Girl", which makes a GREAT production plant. Her flowering time is just under 7 weeks of 12/12. The colas are BIG and DENSE and RESINOUS. Her buds taste like Ginger Ale & the high is quite like the old Colombian Gold we used to smoke in the late 70's...very warm, friendly and non-paranoia inducing. She's an excellent yielding plant to boot; I could fill my 4'x8' flowering space with 40 clones of Cafe' Girl and easily yield 60 ounces of Grade "A" sinse...that's an average of 1.5 ounces per plant even @ 1.25 plants per square foot! Cafe' Girl is the mother of "Rosetta Stone", a White Widow hybrid." -Mr Soul The male White Widow from Green House actually had resinous leaves! "we purchased dozens of seeds from Greenhouse Seed Bank and planted them all. From this huge sample group of White Widow individuals, a single outstanding male and female were chosen after much evaluation. Some BG hybrids (Rosetta Stone, Sugar Blossoms, etc...) have already been created from the selected male plant and the public's response to them has been extremely favorable." starinhazy 2,938 Report post Posted November 19, 2013 I am in and following this one, beautiful setup and is that one impressively large tent that you can have all them plants plus a desk! GTFOOH! I am a micro grower and only dream of having that kind of freedom. Perhaps Someday....Looks like some great genetics and a solid mix, should be a great show. Guest BrockSamson Report post Posted November 19, 2013 Good shit, thanks man but there's more space than that my friend....feast your eyes upon vastness (mostly limited by vertical space....I'm 6'2 and the ceiling is 5'11 with the pipes) but you'd be surprised how quickly it fills up

Roodni 226 Report post Posted November 19, 2013 Looking epic and healthy dude. Make a bubble cloner though, seriously easy to do. They're fairly cheap, pretty much 100% success rate if your cuttings are healthy and require very little effort in general. I'd especially make some device if I had so many plants. You'll still get roots some time without one, but a cloner is the way to go. Also clones don't appreciate much light in my experience, and generally like some time without too much light when they do root https://www.opengrow.com/topic/37466-cloners-cloning-and-clones/
Guest BrockSamson Report post Posted November 19, 2013 oh fuck yea rodni....that's awesome (out of likes ath the moment)...i'm going to build one of these TONIGHT if I have some extra time
saxo 12,616 Report post Posted November 19, 2013 very nice,Brock !!! that room is awesome and the tops looking just great
Guest BrockSamson Report post Posted November 27, 2013 Throwing out a quick update. Thanks again for that link to the bubble cloner Rodni (wherever you are), Going to try that out soon. I finally finished water proofing / sanding down my scrog cages (and of course putting them back together). As per advice of TSB on an earlier thread I lined the base with some plastic sheeting ( I had mold growing on the wood towards the end of my last grow). 4 of the 5 KQXBH ended up being females (which I recently transplanted into larger pots) They're the ones in the middle scrog, they're not the largest of plants at the moment, but I expect they'll start picking up once they get used to their new pots (there's also flowering too, I'm expecting some stretch/growth) How much stretch should I expect out of these? I'm assuming a good amount of stretch since BH is sativa dominant. 2 of the cheesetrals have showed their sex (female, I'm stoked to smoke this), but the blue heron (I'd be very happy just to get one female, fingers crossed) and the remainder aren't showing anything THUS I created a whole other room so I can put them in 12/12 and force sex them. depending how well this goes i'll turn it into a veg room And of course there's the scrogging.....man it kills me to do this everytime (I'm sure they'll heal) but whenever I hear that snap and see the branches split apart like this, i'm taking aghast The rosetta stone and glos still have some catching up to do and the Critical hogs have started getting better (I think) since I put them nearer the fans and started misting them with cold water 1 to 2 times a day. Still need to do a ph check, but I don't think that's the issue since the soil was premixed in the same bins as the soil in the rest of them. ALSO, Happy Thanksgiving to everybody (even the people that don't celebrate it, you should its fucking awesome imo, the historical principle of it is fucked, but a mass feast with the family one or 2 times a year is bomb)
hiwatt 380 Report post Posted November 30, 2013 I'm asking me and think finally this ones are the KQxBH, it looks like a good mix of the 2 ? Rosetta stone and Glo promise great tasty crop, how are the Blue heron and the others ? Nice work, your growing method and rack seems very good. Thanks for sharing & happy growing !

Guest BrockSamson Report post Posted December 1, 2013 Lol hiwatt that was old picture of my Kolossus/shackzilla/herijuana grow. The ones in the front row of that picture are the shackzilla and the herijuana. The plants in the scrog above (going from left to right) are blue cheese,NYCD,KQxBH,Critical mass The plants in early veg are the rosetta stone, and the glo (also a dinafem white widow, a mystery seed cause i didn't label it, and a dinachem) The blue heron hasn't shown any sex yet (its been about 3 days under 12/12 so it should be soon) I'm hoping to atleast get one (cause that's all going to be personal). Guest BrockSamson Report post Posted December 14, 2013 quick update before flowering. Eta 3 days The blue heron are having some cal-mag deficiency (black spots on yellowing leaves right?) and I'm on top of that shit with a spray bottle and cal-mag The critical masses have started depleting whatever nitrogen was in the soil (didn't expect them to use that much nitro) All other plants doing great Killah Queen X Blue Hammer chilling in its seperate room. Going to be moved into the magic room (it looks funny when all the lights are off in the basement. A strong white light permeates through the crevices of the entrance door, as if when you open the door there's some serious shit going on behind it) in 3 days only 3 male plants out of the 10 glo and rosetta stone magilla freebees Cheesetral scrogged, Critical hog scrogged, the leaves stopped dying on the critical hog which makes me think it's very sensitive to the nutrients in fox farms OF, but they're doing fine now. Giving them 3 days to recover then its party time.

Guest BrockSamson Report post Posted December 14, 2013 Thanks for dropping in Polder...... Yea it's definitely a lot of work, from building the scrog cages to maintaining the scrog net, wheeling them in and out of the room to water them. Then there's the cleaning beneath the scrog cage, refilling the reservoir...etc.. lol its a lot of work, but it pays off in the end. i'm stoked about the killah queen X blue hammer it's been the least demanding plant of the bunch (a good thing), from what I hear you guys did a really good job on it.
