The summer is thinking about ending now, so it's time to start up my 2014/2015 grow season. For the first time in years I will likely RUN OUT of weed before harvest, unless I conserve [yeah, I'm going to run out]. I let a little too much go to my typical consumers, and then a family member needed some for chemotherapy nausea issues, and... My one bulb grow was stretched to the max.

I know I could have put more plants in the flower room last time around, and this grow I should max out the space -- especially considering the likelihood that one or two or all of the sativa doms will go fucking nuts. Should be a fun grow of low per plant yields and a high total yield.

ALSO last time, those of you who took careful notes will recall that last season's Blue Hawaiian Sativas were some pure or near-pure indica doms. I now have my small group of consumers WHINING that the only uplifting sativa from the grow was Pineapple Fields, and they all ran out. I'm sure by February, we'll all be whining that we don't have any relaxing or coma inducing indicas, but that's months from now, and I probably won't be the one doing the whining.

ANYWAY, the search continues to build up a stable of various sativa mama plants that will cover ANY CONTINGENCY, except contingencies that require an indica. (Next grow there will be an indica search.)

So now, the obligatory picture of the seed packs:

gallery_3138_4603_379770.jpg

Jalisco Jaze and Hammerhead are obviously from The Shop. Bourbon Street is a Leprechaun cross of their Lollypop x Burmese sativa. Blue Hawaiian Sativa is from replacement seeds sent to me by JOTI. He doesn't pack replacement seeds in those fancy little test tubes, and just grabs some sandwich bags out of the pantry, apparently. For all 4 of these strains, I'm soaking 5 seeds each.

The Lemon Thai and Lush are actually original Fusion creations that were given to me by Indican. There are two LT seeds and one Lush. Fusion's Lemon Berry was a-fucking-mazing, so I'm excited about popping these. If they grow and decide they're boys, there will be crosses with a number of the girls.

In addition to these, there will be one or two Pineapple Fields pheno C clones in there. She was the star of my last grow, IMO. There will also be a couchlock indica clone that was from last season's "Blue Hawaiian" that turned out to be a heavy indica. This one stood out as having literally ZERO cerebral effects, aside from dulling the thought processes. Yes, I do appreciate indicas, and will probably appreciate them even more by growing almost none. Lush and Hammerhead will be the closest strains to that end of the scale.

The soaking of the seeds has commenced. The ceremonial placing in spongepots will happen tomorrow, but I will probably not annoy you will constant updates of seedlings, unless something weird and noteworthy occurs.

Oh, this will be an organic soil grow, using Dr. Earth's potting soil as a base, and mixing dry organic ingredients, dolomite, myco and extra perlite (if it looks like I won't be sent abroad during this grow - perlite tends to reduce water holding capacity of soil, which I need when my grow is on its own for periods of time.) I also use plenty of Sannie's Bacto. about 9 plants will be in 5 gallon Smart Pots or another brand of cloth pot. Additional plants (I'm hoping for 12) will be in 3 gallon (11 liter) cloth pots.

Let it hereby be known that I will not be going off topic here EVER, and will tolerate no idle chit-chat on this thread! It's just going to be serious business. Stop smirking!

Jackhammer is a grandparent of Hammerhead. Hammerhead is a cross between Green Manalishi and Blue Hammer. I think Blue Hammer is:

(BB indica x Jackberry) x Jackhammer

As for Jackhammer, I think it's a cross between a strain called Thor's Hammer and Sannie's Jack. Not positive, though.

very interested in the Jalisco, was close to ordering next...

I am in on this one, happy growing and hope you can make it til the grow. If you got any trim, I would recommend converting to hash and starting to smoke more hash now, i use that often to help in conservation efforts.

Hope you find some keepers

Hammerhead is on my next "to order" list...Of course the Jalisco is quite intruging as well

Your grow may be the deciding factor on this one.

Can't wait to see you try keeping that crazy indian on topic though -

Lemon Thai from Indi?!?! LOL I'm glad they found a proper home. Did he send you any labeled Waterford Wreck? It's a real nice hybrid high with a mild taste that will sit you down if you're not careful. And yields nice too. Might be something for those in your circle looking for a good pain reliever that doesn't knock you out.

I doubt I'll be on topic, either. It's the marijuana that does it to me. Yeah, I figured I'd jump in on the JJ. I know everyone wants the ibl, and so do I, but I'm betting I'd rather smoke and grow the cross.

I made all my trim into hash about a week ago. I'm factoring that in.

It's not a big deal. I can get some if I really want it. I also have a plant outside that will be ready maybe a few weeks after I run out.

I'll be watching the Lemon Thai and Bourbon Street; I happen to have those in my seed stash.

I'm thinking both have to be good. Have you tried anything else from Leprechaun?

No Waterford Wreck, but a ton of goodies. I think Indi likes any weed with a decent body buzz. LT may not be for him, but crosses with LT will have some power.

It's an Esko strain. It's got to be worth growing.

Been looking forward to a Mr. D grow thread for awhile. Wish you'd relocate to the coast so we can have the D action year round ;) Really digging on that Jalisco Jaze and Lemon Thai. I hope your yields last and last. Happy growing and subscribed :)

Nope, I also have Lollypop and Gravedigger (Romulan x Herijuana) seeds. Someone said Lollypop was a stinky grow, IIRC. I have odor control but a tweaker moved in next door, so . . .

Nice lineup, Mr D. Should make for a high flying stash.

It's not low odor, but not unusually stinky either. I'm hoping Gravedigger becomes available again soon. That has got to kick ass.

Nice selection of Strains...i think this will Turn Out great!

Running out of weed sucks and i can tell you it took me about 2,5 years to get it to Where i am now (with weed left when the next grow is done) but it's still becoming Scarce 😄

Its Hard for me to say 'no' to friends..

Good luck mr.d!

The germination count thus far:

5 of 5 Blue Hawaiian Sativas

4 of 5 Hammerheads

4 of 5 Jalisco Jazes

2 of 5 Bourbon Streets

0 Lemon Thai

0 Lush

I haven't given up on the non-germers. LT and Lush are a few years old. But Bourbon Street? WTF? Hopefully they're just not fast germers.

This is one of the times that I start second guessing, ready to sprout another dozen or so seeds, just in case! That will happen by Saturday, if these gals don't snap out of it.

I just always soak at least 10 at a time now, figuring two won't pop and another 2-3 will be males. Very happy when they exceed my expectations and all pop!

@ Mr.D

Try out Lemon Cindy. Her yield is better than Lemon Thai and the taste would please you, I think.

Good Luck and no more self-promotion from me

It's either that, or a Lovepotion x c99 cross that made its way to me, Smilestyle.

Germathon update:

Being too antsy to wait another day, I started soaking 9 seeds to replace the 8 that didn't pop. The rest of the Bourbon Street pack went in, plus an Esko cross of his LP1 x C99 that made it's way to me via a guy most of you don't know. (Thanks San Terro. I'll keep your identity secret.)

I didn't get rid of the non-starters yet. I've had seeds take a week to show signs of life, but I'm not optimistic.
