Good morning guys and gals of OG. Fuggzy here to grow, show, and maybe make a friend or two.

So lets get to the title. I love me some hacks. I feel like some people look at hacks as a dirty word, subpar, or just not worth the $100+ they could spend on designer beans. Don't get me wrong, I love me some fancy beans and own $100+ packs too... Those won't be in get here though. Today we grow HACKS!

So I'm an organic grower if being in the organic section didn't sell the idea. I have my own soil that is going on it's 3rd year, and I love it. I bring in a lot of natural resources like rotting wood, sea grape leaves from the coast, seaweed, wild found worm castings, and so on. My soil is anything but "sterile." Is it the best mix? Probably not even close, but it works pretty well for me, and I love it. It started as a peat base, and I have been shifting to coco after that. In total 1 bale of peat, and three 5kg bricks of coco have been used. The peat is 3 years old almost so hopefully, it's predominantly coco for it's base. It's a living soil, so like most living things, it grows.

Here is the general recipe for Fuggzy's Surf N' Soil mix.

Quote

When I started I used LC mix #1, and nute mix #1.
[indent]
LC’s Soiless Mix #1:

5 parts Canadian Sphagnum Peat or Coir or Pro-Moss
3 parts perlite
2 parts worm castings or mushroom compost or home made compost
Powdered (NOT PELLETED) dolomite lime @ 2 tablespoons per gallon or 1 cup per cubic foot of the soiless mix.

1 tablespoon Blood meal per gallon or 1/2 cup per cubic foot of soil mix
2 tablespoons Bone meal per gallon or 1 cup per cubic foot of soil mix
1-tablespoon kelp meal per gallon or 1/2 cup per cubic foot of soil mix
or Maxicrop 1-0-4 powdered kelp extract as directed
(OPTIONAL) 1 tablespoon per gallon or 1/2 cup per cubic foot of Jersey Greensand to supplement the K (potasium) in the Kelp Meal and seaweed extract.

After 6 months I added a lot more worm castings, bio-char, perlite, and compost. I used this mix for 6 months, and am now on the mix below... (I did have 2-5 gallon no tills that where just LC's mix, and where added to the new mix to start over)

Fuggyz's Surf N Soil mix:(current)

Base
25 gallons used living soil (peat moss based)
7.5 gallon fresh coco charged with cal/mag, kelp extracts, and Earth Juice catalyst
5 gallons mushroom compost
5 gallons Coast of main lobster compost
5 gallons worm castings (5 varieties)
1 bag royal oak lump coal smashed and brewed 3 days in EWC tea
5 gallons rice hulls

Amendments
2 cup shrimp meal 6-6-0
4 cup crab meal 4-3-0
2 cup lobster meal 6-2-0
4 cups oyster flour
3 cup kelp meal 1-0.1-2
1 cup wild seaweed (unrinsed)
2 cup fish bone meal 3-16-0
4 cups green sand 0-0-3
1 cup chicken manure 3-2-3
1 cup rabbit manure ~2.4-1.4-0.6
1.5 cup neem cake
1.5 cup karanja cake
5 cups diatomaceous earth
5 lbs Azomite dust

It was originally designed for autos, and has done well for their pussy foot nature, but has also worked great for the rest of my plants.

Back to the title! HACKS! All this talk about'em, lets get to'em!

So for this I'll be logging 3 hacks. One of my own, one from a close friend, and one from a fella I have a lot of respect for as a grower and "humble hacker."

My hack: Moody Blues, a cross of Helman Providence land race affy from Derg Cora Collective, and used collect pollen from a stellar Longs Peak Blues by Rare Dankness. I have not grown these out yet as they where just harvested a couple months ago. My goal is to make a blueberry funk hash plant. After smoking about 2oz of the affy mom, I'm pretty sure she has a bit higher CBD levels. Nothing crazy, but enough to notice in my back. The LPB had a deep sweet funky skunkberry smell. The affy mom had a cheesy feet smell. So far of 5 plants, One smells like mom, one smells like dad, and the other 3 are a smell of their own, mostly just generic canna at the moment.

Hack #2: (Mains own Blueberry x OG Kush Kens cut) x C99auto This hack was done by a good friend that resides in the NW US, and normally breeds for northern outdoor climates. I won't be judging that lol, but this should be a freaking killer plant. I have had the MOBxOGK flowers from the mom, and it was in my top 5 easily. These will be the first time these seeds have been grown out, and also came from a recent harvest (up north, not here).

Hack #3: Chocolate Cheezle (Chocolate Desiel x UK Exodus Cheese) These where breed by a brother that also resides here, but I got them from else where. Not sure on ToU regarding that stuff here, so if he sees this, and wants to claim it, please do. I wouldn't mind giving credit where it's due. Only thing I really know about these beauties is they are pretty uniform so far (only have 2 down) and picking up some lovely deep earthy smell. They where the first of about 20 plants out on the same date to get a specific sent. I have a feeling these are going REEEK! I'm okay with that too!

Anyways, I can type all day long given enough herbs. So to preserve said herb, I'll just let it at this. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Talk with you folk later.

Ps. I'll update pic when I get on the correct PC. Taking bong rips on the porch, drinking coffee, and listening to the birds at the moment, so be patient please.

takin bong rips on the porch--you too. The neighbor dog loves the bubbling sound. hehe

Subbed up and camped out. MOB X C99A, Chocolate Cheezle and Cool dude- ur running some of ur own. (I haven't done that much yet) exciting to see what comes out I bet. And the trait development from the LPB side. LPB is a bit of a good one I heard. lol

No better way to start the day brother! This is actually the first time I've ran my own seed to be honest. I've made them, but always though everyone else had "better" work. I was talking about the Moody Blues with a guy, and he was pretty hyped about them, and want to try them out. Figured "shit he feels about my work, like I do his...Time to pop some Moody blues!" This whole grow is all about coming out my box you could say. Growing my first personal hack, growing my first 100% sativa, doing my first vert light hang, and experimenting with an outdoor tent for winter breeding. If they get here in time I'll be dropping more pure satty seeds too. I am waiting on some Mexican beans (thought to be landrace, 90% sure) and some Cambodian beans from a bag seed repro. Figured if I'm going to grow wild herbs (doing the Mango Zamal, and Wifi#2 x Malawi too) I might as well go balls deep in it. Hopefully by the time I go in to flower I'll have my CMH for the main tent. It'll put me around 1k/w of LED/CMH lighting to thunder'fugg those wild beasts out.

So to make thing easier, I'm going to call (MOBxOGK)xC99a Lady in Blue or LIB. Reason for this is there is another hack I may talk about by the same guy using the same C99a polen. So those are (Lavender x Purps)xC99a, and I'll call them Lady in Violet or LIV.

Back to the hacks. I just found out today my last sexed Fire99 auto is a male, so that makes 3/3 males now. More hacks to come. Moody blues x f99a is a route I may go to find the hash plant pheno I want as the f99a resign profile is very prevalent.

Yeah, if you made the cross you can jazz up about the Breeders responsible for the parent strains. You got good parents, I think generally you have good offspring. :)

I'm glad you're coming outa the closet...er box?! It's freeing in a more safe kinda way if u know what I mean.

WIFI2 X Malawi damn son, that's an intense sounding one. Bet that would be good to cob. :) I don't have a pressure sealer now. So I'm resorting to jars and such. :)

Moody Blues grown in 0.5 gallon fabric pots, under a 39w DIY Bridgelux cob light. Floor measures 11" x 13". They are getting their light hours diminished now and should be on 12/12 in the next ~8-9 days. They are 21 days old.

Just don't tell my wife, she'll make me get back in there. It's dark and cold in there. Now if she'd shove me back in the grow tent, thats bright and warm, lol.

So do you have a link for the jar method? After trying the Apollo11 x Flow13 x Apollo11 cob... Man I would go all Native Malawi on it and bury it to get that high again. I'd be out there every day looking at the mound in the soil, jumping in circles with my chicken foot chanting " Rot Ol'Mutha Hubard, Rot!"

No links unfortunately. 2 different dude's threads on other forums. I don't remember which tbh mumble grumble.

Thing about the cob, due to temps. and the decomposition process it is auto decarbed. Which also makes it a possible option for some with lung or breathing impairment.

A11/Flow13/A11 would probably make me curl up into a hirstute sissy ball of anxiety. Hehe. Good weed?! maybe :)

Another brother was also gifted some of this cob who is pretty sensitive to sativas. I called him the next day and told him not to eat it the first time, and when he smoked it to only take one hit for a tester. When I first got it I took 2 nice bong rips and within about 90 seconds, I was not able to put my thoughts in to a letter I was writing. Next time I ate it, and about twice what I smoked. I didn't get any anxiety from it (which I do have issues with), but I was right on the edge of stability for about 5 hours, and cruising at high altitude for ~7 hours total. Shit was an amazing high, and loved it, but man it was strong like bull.

Mmm mm mmm. I like my ladies in pretty colored dresses. Nothing like a beautiful female, long legs, shimmering attire, and the sent of fruity passion. :dribble:
There not my work, but I've named a few strains for this fella, so for now, I'll just nickname them till it's a "real" name. ;)

Hey there SPW, nice to meet you bud. As agreenpassion stated, the "a" (always small) indicates an auto, and will be grouped with the last letter number. (c99a, not c99 a), and females are listed first.

For Malawi, I got some from a Aussie fella. Included where the Wifi #2 x Malawi, Mullumbimby Madness #7 x Malawi, and Mox #5 ( Mullum Madness x Oaxacan sativa -NL 5Haze ) x Malawi. I really want to try the MM7xM but to be honest, it kinda scares me, lol. I figured the Wifi cross was the least wild of the bunch, and a good starter. Those Mullumbimby Madness can get MASSIVE. I'd like to get some Malawi brick seed, but thats an adventure that will have to wait.

Don't sit on that Strawberry Diesel to long, wouldn't want to shoot yourself on the other foot cause it goes stale. I do the same thing though. I've got a couple special beans that I only have 1-2 of, and want to be "ready" to grow them. If that ever happens, lol.

All those strain sound great. :jump: Especially that Nigerian Nightmare, nice score. I've got some STA on the way along with some Polar Haze auto F2, and Green Bull auto (STA x Polar Haze auto). They are going to be use to make a Zamal auto using Mango Zamal for the mother. That GG#3xNM sounds like it would be a hit for northern growers. Have you grown it before?

Thanks man!

So here is a winter breeding project I'm working on. Here in FL, it's hot 90% of the time, the other 10% it's only cool. So I want to take advantage of our cool time. I've taken my 4x2 that was not in use, and set it up on my back porch. The light is a 400w MH, and will be swapped for a 600w HPS later on.

I've got a few idea on how to get it done, but in general, the idea is to do a vertical scrog/trellis.

The project will be an open pollination of Bro Grim's C99 F4. Along with that repro, I plan on stacking the shit out of this tent for crosses. I have 4 C99 seeds germing now, and they will be grown on the right side of the tent in 1 gallon pots. Mind you EVERYTHING is getting stunted. Also on the floor will be a mango Zamal. The MZ will be topped and trained to lay flat on the ground as close as I can get it. It's pot will lay horizontally on the left side of the light, and the plant will be trained to grow up the back of the tent. I hope to get a good ~3 foot of it on the floor before it shoots for the sky. On the shelves will be various other strains Including the above mentioned LIV for a C99 BX. After the C99 is Done I'll start working on the Mango Zamal x Auto.

I've got some veggies in there now that have been doing pretty good. Later I'll throw one of the Moody Blues in there and see how it does.

Dude you gotta pm me or so.e may I u again... U got C99 F4 from??? Just whisper it reaaaaaal quiet as ur exhaling some herb. Like a stoner smoke signal bro. :)

Are you going to do any root pruning in veg. to get them to stay small? I bet that Mango Zamal or MM7 X Malawi could bust through the roof like a hot knife through butter and still want toast if you let it. :)

Good luck on this one. (think I forgot that before) (social disgust hehe) thanks for sharing Fuggzy.

So is there any way to load images straight from my phone to the thread, without setting a gallery every time? I would like to post more images, but with my limited experiences here, it's kinda pain in the rump. All of my hosted pic are on a private forum, so drag and drop won't work for them. Any suggestions guys?

New to forums really... I often use OG as mi 'Imagery App' (man i am bad at explaining tech anymore-- The way I do it is 1 at a time and laborious. But from here I could maybe link photos from here using the BBC code (top box)

Mang I think a couple guys have a thread about uploads and I think mass uploads are available now?!? lemme try to chk

I would have to NOT upload pics on here that I consider phelony material. Things are different for me now...

I would NOT put all my pics here if I had somewhere I knew as more secure...

Subbed! Sorry can't help with pics. If you figure it out though let me know lol. Pics load from phone to gallery but from there to thread is still an unknown to me. I use a desktop to move then to threads.

From my phone I get a mobile site of og. At the bottom you can click full version which opens ,ore options and the ability to download pics from phone o gallery
