worm castings tea - left it standstill for 12 hours.

Recommended Posts

Is my tea still safe to use? I recall reading somewhere that the aerobic bacteria we need can die without oxygen. I did atleast have the bucket opening fully open so I guess some air may have entered.

It also doesn't smell bad. What do you think?

Not sure what else you have in the tea, can you explain further?

My gut reaction is saying that it's safe to use (right now), although it may not produce the desired effects (not enough time nor aeration for beneficial microbes to multiply). Was there a food source like molasses added?

It's safe to use, not much will change after sitting open for 12 hours. The aerobic bacteria has enough oxygen in mix, unless you have it sitting in direct sunlight and it got too hot.

I had a couple of those air stones and pumps like aquariums have to make tea with.

I'm not sure when I would use tea, I used to get a free gallon where I bought my dirt.

I'm just feeding once a week (general organics) and the ocean forest isn't that old.

I'll go to twice a week when heatwave is over.
