Paps dyi for easy access

Recommended Posts

Hi guys

I had a idea while sampling some anistasia x sugar punch

Some background

My tent is only 39 inches x 39 inches with limited access to the back and sides once the scrog net is set

So while wandering through the local big box hardware store I seem to have found a salution A Giant Lazy Susan

In the plumbing department I found a hot water heater drainage tray

So I started looking on line for the largest one which will fit my needs

Found a plastics round 32 inch drainage tray

So Iam thinking of making a round 36 inch ply wood base for extra support and this edge all around will allow me to install a support for my scrog net to

I'll make a hula hoop style net out of pvc pipe

Put some casters under neath and away she goes

It should move freely and allow me complete access

This is what I was going to use

The casters

So what do you think

Peace

Thats an awesome idea. Always loved the idea of gardening on wheels. Had these heavy-duty 30-gallon round garbage bins on little four wheeled creepers back in the day. Oh man, it was butter! Lmao...

What medium are you planning to use?

Hi there triple H

I use soil in 5 gallon fabric bags

I think I should be able to grow the same amount of plants in this contraption

Was worried about the weight but the plywood support underneath should work

Thanks for stopping by

Peace

I have seen these happily used!

They make great veg and sprouting large amount containers. Use it like a giant seedling tray and up to blocks or small containers. Rocks/perlite on the bottom I like.

Nah, won't work. That wheel invention thing never really caught on, I'm sure there's a much more difficult solution, lol.

The hot water heater tray looks like lasting solution, I use round plant trays, these things https://4hydroponics.com/premium-green-saucer, that are quite a bit cheaper.

Sure fun building this stuff, isn't it? !

Hi Papalag :) That should work, sounds like a great idea. I don't have my Octopots on wheels, but I did my soil, I used these home made ones with wood and wheels attached, saved me a lot of frustration.

I'm interested to see how the six inch will perform around the end of flower, with the weight of wet soil and big ol plants. It's nice that they have the twelve inch casters nice and cheap too if needed.

@ hhh

I was worried about the weight myself going to use 3 of the casters for support and balance

Ok all I may need to cut down the plant count

If I use 5 gal fabric bags I'll only fit 6

If I use 2 gal fabric bags I'll keep the plant count at 9

Wouldn't know if I'll like it till I give it a shot

Peace

for large plants, just make your own.

Cut a piece of strong enough board, add some under support boards and put on 4 caster wheels.

When trying something new, always take it one step at a time as it is likely you make or want little adjustments as you go through with it and gain the experience of doing it.
