I don't add to this forum as I should. I am here all the time lol. I do apologize for that, have not put any grows up, but between my lousy art at picture taking anymore and issues in the garden, would not be a pretty sight to see. :)

I also came in after the exodus and even though this forum is a bit quiet, i like the atmosphere and people that post here.

I have to echo what Goodfellow said.

I came here because the shop was suggested to me. Killer genetics at killer prices. Then I checked out OG from there around Nov 2016. Started lurking and I was very amazed at how everyone was helpful. Everyone got along and seemed like genuine friends. I almost didn't join because I thought it was just breeders sharing with breeders and may not be welcome. Then I said screw it and joined, wow, I was treated just like I belong here. Everyone has been extremely helpful and enjoy seeing everybody succeed in their grows.

i got here after all the drama, so I know nothing about what was happening. But huge thanks to all that stuck around, and making OG like a second home. You ALL have been awesome.

Happy Grows to everyone.

Yes...this is a true statement

Many of us haven't gone anywhere. We've just opted out of a lot of trivial meaningless bullshit.

There's a whole "real" world out there, folks.

Keep growing..no matter what. In every way

MAD LOVE

I am like you, was invited here by others in this forum, but I am not a breeder was so hesitant in stepping in here, they kept telling me come over and finally made the jump. I was welcomed with Open Grow Arms :) I've had my head lobbed a few times lol and witnessed the BS, but it is calm now, and I think we learned of not what buttons to push.

Respect.

A few I miss here very much. Those fights changed the dynamics here, but the dust has settled, although on occasion a little Bite will hit the air here again, think the dust has settled and we will only grow even more now. No pun intended.

I've been on other forums and tried giving out grow related knowledge just to get shot down, called names and talked to in a condescending manner. I didn't care for that at all and I won't let some chump treat me that way or make me feel like I'm insignificant when it comes to plants. The mods on some of those fora aren't too good at moderating the site and keeping the peace or being impartial... and choose sides when bs erupts... usually siding with the older members or their friends.

There's nothing like the feeling of getting ganged up on by a bunch of people who either disagree with your comment or don't understand your comment due to their lack of knowledge. I'm sure a lot of you know what I'm talking about here... as it has probably happened to you too.

There are many other reasons, but the two I just stated are the main reasons why I took the moderator position that Whazzup offered me all those years ago. Plus, I can share my grow-knowledge here and not be treated badly for it or called names.

Those that moderate on OG do it because they like this place and the members in it... we don't get paid with money or seeds... we get paid with new friends, new experiences and the shared knowledge of others... and we get paid with fresh bud-porn each and every day. That, in itself, is worth more than money or seeds to me.

I don't know anyone from OpenGrow personally, but I do consider myself very lucky to have so many friends and acquaintances here.

It makes it all worthwhile!

Gardenartus... how can you say you don't contribute enough to the site?! 90% of the cooking recipes found on site are from you. Most of us talk about smoking cannabis, but we forget, at times, that not all cannabis users can use it this way... some are only able to ingest it and your recipes are their salvation. Keep up the good work that you do GA and keep those recipes flowing... there are many medicinal patients out there that seek a way to better living & better health through cannabis with the guidance you offer through these recipes. GA, the help you offer is immeasurable to those that need it most!

From the Dutch forum i know that growers can squabble about nearly anything, over seedlings versus cuttings or hydro versus soil and who has the biggest buds. Some are Buddhists with a bad temper and blame others for having spider-mites and get mad. It caused me to eventually take the f--k off and crash here, just like Sannie, just not a breeder. ;)

I do think legalization has played a large role in people not hanging out in forums anymore looking for info.

Along with youtube you dont have to go looking hard for pot info like you use to. I agree, social media plays a large part also. Ive been here for a few years now, and ive come back and forth. I was pretty active, then took a few years off.

Back again because i like most of the people here , and the genetics.

Sannies cool shit too

I stumbled on Sannie's in fall of 2012 looking for seed and after I grew the first crop I was sold, like others I went to opengrow from the shop and was thrilled with the knowledge and the helpfulness from everybody. The breeders were active, Sannie, Esko, Pro. P, USC and NAW were coming on board, I was in heaven, hell I've been growing kick ass weed since 1971 and still learn stuff here everyday. I missed the drama and glad I did though I wish it had been because of different circumstances. With all that said I feel that I came back at the right time, old friends are still here, the breeders seem to be firing up again and I look forward to making new friends. As far as other forums the only thing I find them useful for IMHO is checking out grows of strains I may have an interest in working, otherwise I stay away, they're worse than FB, OG is the only one I've joined.

The vibe is sweet here again! So are the strains, dying to get my hands on BA and Airborne Jack!

Many of the OverGrow refugees were NOT welcome on many sites back then.

Heck, I'd venture to say the *Fight Club* mentality that became OverGrow, towards the last few years, spawned many other weed websites to be born, as it became a mass exodus, once RC and shabang started the server war.

It went from a cool ashram type feeling, to fight club.

I did (and still do at times) miss the epic brawling. And the Shark Tank, such verbal fury was funny as hell to me.

I never liked to attack, but did learn to defend myself in cyberia.

I sometime feel that passion rise, I have learned to control it in this more sterilized environment, and it is a proper environment.

Sannie built a great site, and I have all respect for anyone playing by the rules.

If you take a step back and just look at the personalities here, we are as diverse as you can get, some very talented folks here, not just involving cannabis. There are some very interesting people here. :)
