Mr Goodfellow

Ghetto grow 2018

Recommended Posts

Well, here I am again, with a version 2 of the Ghetto grow. I moved to a different location last October and in the long run it'll be a much better location for this hobby.

Well, I started with 18 seedlings and that got trimmed down pretty hard with the males. I'm left with 8 sure females and 2 that are catching up and haven't shown sex yet, but should any time now. So, 10 plants that could be 8.

Plants were started under T-5 4 x 4' with 2 grow bulbs and 2 bloom bulbs for a total of 216w.

I'm using a 600w HPS for the room. It's a space in one side of a bedroom that I wrapped in Panda film.

I still have a few areas to work on like fresh air exchange. But, for now, it's full steam ahead with the ghetto spirit.

My plants:

1 - Mohawk - Pineapple Skunk x C99 f5 ..(thanks bigun)

1 - Dusk - (Ghash x (Psychosis x Herijuana) ..(thanks bigun and Indican/Sinister)

1 - Bazooka Jane x Selene ..(thanks Dream of Green)

1 - Green Manalishi f2 ..(thanks NAW)

2 - Sour Goo Phuuu (Sour Diesel x Afgooey) x Phuuu's IPA (thanks Beachbud)

2 - Sweet Spot f2 (Chocolate Cheese bx) ( need to get updated confirmation on this one) ..(Santero, w/f2 by Beachbud, thanks)

As you can see I'm showcasing some of our on OG "reader breeders". Some are already in Sannies, and some gearing up to offer seeds in Sannies Shop for the first time and any of these guys I'm showcasing could and maybe should have something in there as well.

I hope I do all of the plants justice everyone. If I do, you'll see what I mean about the talent of these guys.

Thanks for viewing and bear with me as I get a slow start getting pics in but I have enough to get us started.

Feel free to ask any questions. I consider myself an informed noobie. I'm older and have smoked for 46 years. I grew outside mostly through the years but never got to be too serious most times. The science of indoor growing is so dialed in now, that I find it really interesting and successful.

So, to get things going, I'd like to start of a beautiful pic of the inside of my Dusk, by bigun. It's the strongest plant out of the bunch, from day one. This is just a simple shot taken of the female pre-flowers; the first sign every grower looks for.

I'll start adding pics this weekend and then I'll be caught up for a bit. I have a few fun pics from this last summer to share in the slow spots.

Everyone please feel free to join in on discussions and questions. I'll learn right alongside you.

Ooops. I left out the last two plants, not yet sexed.

2 - Humboldt x Nor'Easter .. (thanks douglasfurtrapper! both strains are shrouded in a little mystery. both strains are somewhat legendary as well. maybe Doug can give me a little more info).

I was afraid the first two would be males so I dropped two more seeds and they are up. May be added into the next grow if the first two don't make it.

Nor'easter is:

Chem dawg d x snow dog

This cross has a lot under it's hood. Good luck!

Estimated flowering time: 9-10.5 weeks

Ok, thanks. Didn't see this and posted on your thread asking..

So far so good. The first two still looking promising. Just filling up now. No upward growth for now. I'm only waiting on them to flip. I may bring them back out and flip the others so I don't get a jungle. Too late, I'm afraid. I was spoiled last year with all the room I had to walk around the plants. This will be different but fine.

Come on in @Saxo, bro. I'm getting ready to put up a few nature shots. You're the one that got me started on that! It breaks it up a little and gives everyone a chance to see a new part of the world. I know I loved seeing yours and hope you keep doing it.

Then, I think I'm going to start some seeds for the next run. Your's is on the table. B) Can't wait to try them. I think I'll do the Choco Rain x Turkish Landrace. Have you had the chance to try any? I saw where Beach did the one I want to do and had a nice review. That was the tipping point for me... drool.

Let's have some fun this winter!

Great you are up and running brother, good to see the variety.

If you have more space that's just a +, keep some keepers and do some magic lol.

I'll be on the side, following and keeping a hawk eye on you're endeavours.

Mohawk has got my attention as we are working on some Pineapple express ourselves.

Good growing!

Thanks for stopping by @Polder, brother. I may pick your brain at some point as I have some ideas on doing some keepers and crosses maybe.. One that has my attention is the Lemon Fantasy by Le Rat. It's Jedi Kush (Deathstar x SFV OG) x Lemon Skunk and I thought of crossing it with the Green Manalishi female. What's your thought on something like that? It may not happen this time, but I'm starting to think that way.

I have 2 TPR males and a GM f2 male. I'm thinking I should save a male of both strains. The strains are so stable, you couldn't ask for better breeding stock!

Help keep me honest, bro. Pipe in anytime you want to correct any problems. I totally welcome it. As soon as my new beans arrive, I'll be having a NAW grow party. Could be 3 strains depending on my freebie. Plus, I gotta drop more TPR. That is indeed good medicine. And, I'm gonna need your Hammerhead for my ADHD, soon.

Thanks for helping to ignite my growing desires again. You guys at NAW have been total inspiration. Thanks to all of you for your continuing support! I'm a NAW junkie!

peace bro..

@Saxo, I'm stoked about that Mohawk... bigun doesn't mess around, it appears. :dribble: I have a male too. I need to decide if I can keep any males and how to do it safely.

Working on a few nature pics aws.

I got a pretty decent stack of those bread bags. Asked the girl in the bakery at the local market for them. Said they were for a kids art project. Score, will use for future pollen chucking..

Males scare the hell out of me..lol

the way I grow a little loose pollen could ruin 50/75 ladies..lol

that is why my last grow is my breeding period..

b safe..smoke good weed and have peace with all...this forum is on the good lanes again..

Thanks everyone. My likes gotta refresh.

@gardener, yes 100% organic. Forgot that part.. Sunshine Mix 4, worm castings and Roots Organics (Uprising) dry nutrients. i use Roots Oregonism for the bacteria. The Sunshine mix has myco and now silicon, too, in it. I feed the plants occasionally with the Roots Surge fish base mix. It has kelp, humic acid, and much more. I'm very hands off this grow so far. I charged the soil mix up so good that once the myco/bacto kicked in, they've really boosted. Just water on my end mostly. I'll give a HPK booster with the dry stuff toward the last of flowering.

Nice ideas on the pollen and males, that's what I want to hear. I'll get more details as I go. I can't save them all but a couple would be gold with about anything else.

Forward ho!

Well, here's the final round up. The two small Humboldt x Nor'easter came back out to veg and will go in later down the road. I need to re pot them soon, too.

I flipped them the day after this pic was taken or the same night; on the 17th. They filling in nicely and I'll have to take them out of the two flood pans I have in there. Maybe I can afford the individual pans soon.

So, before long, we'll start to see the magic.

I'll start getting pics up now. I finally found a way to do it using my old computer.

Here are a couple of pics of Bigun's Dusk (ghash x (psychosis x herijuana)) right after it was sexed. bing bing bing! female!

Her and the male (gone now) were the fastest developing and twice the size for a while. The stem has always been larger than any other. She's a beautiful specimen. I just like looking inside the plants when they're developing early on. So cool.
