Too many long necks so I had to put a net in after the final defoliation. Buds are developing nicely on both strains. Trichs have seemingly popped up overnight and the sweet smell is getting strong. The eating has ratcheted up also with massive amounts of nutes  being consumed every other day. I expected this which is why having a 55gal res has made this grow almost effortless. So far so good.

Not sure how ethos came up with Rainmaker but I know it’s a big yielder from my previous run of it.

Both strains are stacking buds very nicely and drinking more and more per day. Had a clog in the control res that I had to clear with a small wire that sorted the system out. Overall easy grow so far.

Trichs have gone crazy on RM but not so much on NL. Bud structure is also very different with RM looking like rocks and NL growing into spears. NL starting to bulk up.

Both strains looking good and frosty at this point. Buds continue to bulk up and we are definitely approaching the end. Brought the nute concentration down and getting ready to flush.

And so it begins again. Took the entire summer off and I’m back and recharged. These clones are a few weeks old with everybody doing well except 1 which, for me, is typical. My plan is to do a full scrog this time around but we shall see if it holds up.

Off to another slow start with the octos but that’s to be expected. Replaced one that failed to thrive with a larger, more mature clone and it has responded well. I always like how thick the main stems get and it lets me know I’ve got a good base going.

Looks like the roots on the rest of them must have found the reservoir.

They definitely have. The replacement has taken off now and I’m considering putting the net in this weekend.

Too lazy to put the net in. Plants have really kicked into gear and are growing rapidly. They’re also drinking an entire notch on the Octos everyday. I would estimate around 25 gals in the last 2 weeks.

That grow went well and the 2 strains really performed.

The net is now in and I put it about 12” above the base of the plants. It’s a kinda low but I want some flexibility with my headroom. Increased the nute concentration a couple days ago and the plants love it with one exception. My new clone is showing some burn which I expected. With the net I really don’t need that 8th plant and if she doesn’t power through I can redirect and cover that space. Been a while since my last scrog and we will see how this turns out.

Running out of time before I have to flip. Plants have surprised me with how fast they have been spreading out. I think I have about a week left before everything below the net has to go.  I still have the lights fairly high and probably won’t bring them down until bloom.

Looked at the net again this morning and decided to flip to flower today. Looked back at some of my previous grows and was reminded of how explosive the growth in the octos can be in early bloom. Don’t want an overcrowded net.

I may start my first Octo grow soon. Still debating about whether to do another seed run first.

You might as well get it started. Takes a little patience at the start but then it just explodes. Easiest growing I’ve ever done.

From the looks of things it seems like I made the right call flipping when I did. Having to tuck twice a day and grow tips are sprouting everywhere. I’m hoping more gets above the net because in 2 weeks everything underneath has to go. Still debating with myself on how much defoliation I’m gonna do.

We have had some explosive growth in the last couple days. Pistils have sprouted everywhere and the stretch is going strong which is requiring some creative tucking. It’s definitely getting crowded in a couple spots with most of the low branches at the net. Introduced some big bud into the mix so we will see how that goes.

All the work is done now and outside of a pluck here and there these plants won’t be touched.  I think I managed to fill 90% of the tent which ain’t bad. Smell is really strong in the tent which seems early and pistils are sprouting everywhere. So far so good

Very happy with how things are looking even though I didn’t fill the net 100%. Putting the net in low made it so almost everything got above and I did need to trim off much below. I always remembered scrogs being more work but this grow has been easy.
