Yeah , it’s definitely funky, smells like sour d, like San said, it’s a SD leaner . Still another week probably maybe 2. The other 2 came down on Saturday and reek.

the slower one is dead-on a sour d-pheno, while the other one is mixed but favors

the stardawg in looks. thank you for checking on those, brother. i will remake the line

soon for bigger seed #'s ... just finished the seedrun (f2's) of the manny cut (of star-

dawg) to the same sour diesel ibl 2010 male ;)

oooh wheee San, i hope they make it to heaven :evil:  what are the differences in the two stardawg cuts in ur opinion San if u know ?

the manny's leafs (and buds also a tiny bit) purple up. it is supposedly the same cut as the "purple cut"

from monkey/dankonomics, i am not sure as i had the dankonomics cut going under HPS and the manny

only under LEDs and i have to admit that the plants in general behave different under these types of light.

i have let go both manny and purple in favor of the illu and now lost the chance to really compare them.

... so,  i did notice differences, but am not sure if they are just coming from the different light-setups (?)

anyhoo the manny has nice potency and is somewhat stouter in stature - in comparsion to the illuminati one,

that has a bit more stink, more stretch, "more chem" to her allover ... i do prefer the illu over the manny, but

both are verrrry good smoke in my book. both very nice chem-representations. i did not have the pleasure of

sampling the "guava" but afaik the "corey haim" is in reach, so i will maybe try to sample this one too sometime

in the future to have an idea about in which direction this ones does point to in the chem-spectrum. i do prefer

the chemd region, but i love all the chems, haha).

btw,

i will use the illu in the repro of the onycd for a(nother) 'stardawg bx' of some sorts

and hope for good things ... oyncd is = chem91 x (chem4/chemd bx2) by topdawg.

Nice info SAN, thanks. I been listening to Duke Diamond on podcasts lately and Skunk VA. Cool stories and makes me wish I'd had the Chemdog. Actually, from the timelines in the interviews makes me think that there is a chance I actually did and didn't remember it for what it is today. We were getting some really killer skunk and Chem types in Montana in the mid 80's from somewhere. I remember the smoke being such a huge leap beyond what we had all been getting there in the past.

All the history has me itching to get growing! I'm keeping my eye on SAN. He has some cool things in the works... and some out there in the hands of us OGers, just waiting to be unlocked!! The stories about Triangle Kush were cool, too. :tu:smoke

Keeping an eye on Smokey here, too. He's killing it with the exotic stuff. I love to come by and drool all over his thread.

According to Chem Dog himself. it was just a pheno of the old Dog Bud out of Oregon and he attached the Chem to it because of the chemical / gasseous smell and taste. He actually did take a bunch to the Grateful Dead show at Deer Park and sold a bag to a friend, it blew him away so much, he got another ounce from CDog later and that was the bag with 13 seeds in it. CDog's buddy got a male, but didn't keep it or use it, just kept the best stinkiest female Chem / Skunk, got a cut back to CDog and that's what they're working with to this day. Bottom line it wasn't seeds from a mystery bag of weed, but another great cultivar from Oregon / PNW.

Yeah, it was interesting hearing Skunk VA tell the story of getting the CD to the west coast and he got in return the Skunk VA (Mass Skunk). It was sort of a long story but pretty cool. Locals were growing outdoors up in Washington state where I lived while in the service. And, not hiding it for the most part. It was wide open then, in the mid 70's. I moved down to southern Oregon after I got out and we grew a little there but I never dialed into the people down in Humboldt or anywhere much. We were pretty isolated. Great place to grow though. And, it doesn't surprise me at the scene that came out of that area. I happen to just miss it all since I moved back up to Wash. and then to Montana for the long haul. I was busy skiing, snowboarding, fishing, mountain biking, freaking everything,,, except growing. It's too fucking cold in Montana, lol. I do wish I had kept up some contacts in those three coastal states. I almost moved back out there instead of Colorado, but just wasn't right for me now.

peace

Edit: this is the show where Skunk VA tells the story of the "Dead" show and the dude from New York, and the story from there. Pretty cool.

thx santero.

i forgot who was using the corey cut recently, maybe useless/stray fox bu others use it too.

i'll be rooting for a chewie with stardawg trichs an sour diesel taste.  i've tried the chem D, CHEM 4 twice, and 91 i think but so long not sure on that. i liked the chem d better than 4. i would like to get the 91, but so much available i won't be searching for a cut i might not be able to grow if it pops up. i had mass super skunk cut but couldn't get jiggy with it.  i'm not sure if it was alive to be pollinated when i had TO SHUT DOWN. i lost track of a couple moms so i kept those seeds to try to figure out the momma.

danger will robinson, danger =  oyncd is = chem91 x (chem4/chemd bx2) by topdawg.  :evil::verrygood

@santeroi saw this on icrag , do u concur with frank's commentary ? thx

ONYCD = Chem '91 x Tres Dawg
Tres Dawg = Chem D x Double Dawg - Chem D Bx2
Double Dawg = Chem D x (Chem D x Afghani#1) - Chem D Bx1

Chem 91, Chem D, Chem 4, ECSD - are all related. The Chem 91 being the original parent.

So, without using JJNYC's naming schemes - Chem D x (Chem '91 x Chem D Bx2)

What you have is a very serious chem line breeding project that should give you some fairly consistent type plants, even when F2'ed theoretically.

You'll find 9-10wk plants that will stretch about 2.5 times once flipped in flower. The '91 is a more sativa type plant in behavior. Has elongated internodes and chunky flowers that don't exactly make long colas. However, Chem D is a good yielding plant and produces some fat buds when grown right. Is more compact than the '91. Some of the best resin for extracts there is. True FMCD bubble. Essentially, you're going to find all around hybrid type plants that sit very middle of the ground. Outliers will finish 8wk or 11wk respectively. Keep in mind JJNYC used Afghani for the original chem outcross and NO ONE really knows what the genetics of Chem '91 are. It's fair to assume, it's a sativa leaning hybrid of some type. (think 60/40) If you find longer flowering plants, you know you are seeing something that is more heritage and relatively unknown.

I'd be looking for a garlicy, old gym sock, earthy/musty, damp basement smelling skunk, that has a sharp, bleachy smelling stem rub. The '91 should have added back some more subtle sour and lemony type notes absent in the Chem D.

By the way, welcome to ICmag. tiphat.gif

I'm still learning this legend. Seedfinder says the Chem91 used in the ONYCD is the Skunk VA cut x Tres Dawg. I was listening to too many stories of the Chem91/Skunk VA saga lately.. Really cool though. But I may be more confused. I'd love to taste that ONYCD. I never had a legit diesel. I never had a legit Chem, maybe, ..or knowingly.

On a side note I just got some Skunk91 f2 preservation seeds of Bodhi's strain. It has a hermi issue though. But some don't and the reports say it may be worth giving them a good try.

I've heard a couple of, sort of, conflicting stories of which cut Bodhi actually got. But it'll get a go.

It looks great Smokey! Sounds nice, too. Is this a cross of yours or a commercial strain? I'm going to finally have some Goji seeds this summer. They'll be f2s though and from an open pollination project, so I'll have to do some searching. I still never got to even taste Goji much less grow it. I had the Goji x BLR going at the end of the season, but lost it due to having to leave for a job. My roomie neglected it.

Where are they at, 4 weekish? Man, those Lemon Goji pics are nice. That's gonna be a really nice looking girl. What's Goji crossed to, LT?

Looks damn good. Best vibes on the finish man!

@Mr Goodfellow just some quick info:

bodhi did not use the chem91SkVA for the "skunk91" . he used one called chem91 JB ;)

and also not the "rks" as males (as it does not excist!). it was something that was re-labelled

as "sterling skunk" ... i had a selected skunk91-male (from silas in UK after the testruns on TSD)

around 2013/2014 but after the hermie-alarm i tossed him without ever using him. BUT that does

not mean that the smoke won't be nice, bodhi creates verry good stuff, so it will rock nonetheless

(especially if it was kept and shared on) ... i bet it is really great *sigh* ... congrats, broski ! :)

 @Sacred Plant Warrior

yes, i agree with frank about what to expect from the line and

how he describes the different chem-cuts that are still around

onycd = chem91 x chem4/chemd bx2 = indeed a complete chem (well, it's still "lacking" the chem sister-cut but ... eh ... lol)

this will rock totally ... especially since i have the chance to make bx's to all involved parents *yay* (as in chem91, chemd,

chem #4, ecsd (dhk and sd riri) = are all here *wooooot*), so i can sense some different hound-variations on the horizon B)

@Smokey Pockets

woah, this lemon goji looks really nicee. is she one of the berry phenos?

i only had a cut of acab's goji og going but no seeds yet (have a pack or

two waiting). bodhi's gear really impresses the hell out of me and his basic

approach is very inspiring for me *big up* (landraces, sharing clones ect.)

Thanks Santero. I'm still trying to let a lot of the details settle in. I'm getting my stuff off of Podcasts and I didn't know so many people were involved in the story. So, I'll listen to them all again a few times and enjoy it every time. It reminds me of all the people I was running with at the time and it could have been a lot of us if we had paid attention.

Otherwise I trust you way better than Seedfinder or any of the internet stuff. I'm just trying to learn enough to know when I have something good in my hands, heh.

Yeah, Bodhi is interesting and I'm digging his whole philosophy as well. Kind of reminds me of this other guy I know whose name starts with SAN. Hell, all the guys here carry that philosophy I believe. He has a couple of good interviews on "The Pot Cast" from Australia. I really dig hearing from all of the breeders. It really begins to connect everything.

I'm with San, I'd love to hear more about your LG, Smokey!

Thanks bros!

Yeah, the lemon Goji is lemon Thai x Goji, I didn’t make them, and I got this as a cut from my broski. It’s awesome so far . But not sure what goji was used... sorry San .

@santero, how many packs of goji do you have ? Enough to part with a couple beans? Be more than happy to trade of course

I'm supposed to be getting some Goji f2 this spring or summer and can share a few. They're from a preservation project and open pollination. Stay in touch on it. I'll try and find out the ETA.
