My secret garden

Recommended Posts

Welcome to my first grow since 2013...

I have a variety of genetics vegging in 2 litre root pouches ( plagron batmix soil ) they have been vegging under 1 600w hps.

I'm looking for a future mother plant so i have let them grow naturally as to study how they grow.

Being my first grow since 5 years i know my plants are not in perfect health, i have honestly been struggling.

The genetics :

Connoisseur Genetics - hippy private stash.

Somas nycd x ogchem.

I have 6 plants i have already culled 4 males.

Elsewhere i have started some extra plants.

On the left is a lemon larry og x lemon alien dawg.

On the right is a Connoisseur Genetics mystery freebie. It is either cali orange x silver nevil or strawberry cookies x silver nevil

Silver nevil is a no name, uncirculated haze cutting from Birmingham. It was being run by a commercial gang from Birmingham for ten years it is said to be simular to Mr Nice Seeds - mango haze. Connoisseur Genetics traded for the cutting, called it 'silver nevil' and used in some of their crosses.

Hey Robin, very nice group of ladies you got going on there !!

I see some of the seed banks your using are putting a date on the seed packets, something I wish every bean banger would do. There are a lot of seeds I pass by, as I know they have been sitting around for years or at least it seems to me they are. If your not reading anything new from a known breeder, but you see their lists posted for a few years, I get shy to order them myself.

The wee ones may be in a soil a bit hot, but they will grow past that, IMHO.

Lovely skills man!! Good luck in your endeavor!!

Thank you for the support everybody.

Gardenartus - Thank you for the tip, i have been feeding them all for the past few weeks but it seems to not be helping at all. I have been feeding with plagron - grow, following the bottle instructions 4ml per litre of water every watering.

I believe i made a poor decision in containers. I'm using a fabric ' root pouch ' and they are like a sieve, the water goes in and leaks straight out of the bottom just like a sieve. It is not effectively feeding the plants and is incredibly frustrating.

I have taken some cuts and placed them in my pre-veg chamber, today they still look okay.

I didnt buy any rooting hormone or a humidity dome so i took a couple cuts of each in the hope some root. I choose the plants based on structure and leaf shape.

20180526_100923.thumb.jpg.a164014aa27742c603835265c4f3ae2f.jpg

The plants i choose are...

20180523_100133.thumb.jpg.00bd8c84b2b2d5ab4fd15b68dbf66e0a.jpg

Lemz og = sfv og x ( critical mass x sfv og )

sfv og = sub lbc cut.

I took cuts of pheno 1 and 3. Pheno 2 has a much nicer commercial structure... i can always re-veg if she shows me something nice.

20180523_095233.thumb.jpg.39c0f4888342ecbbfc63e60369f099f1.jpg

Livers s1 - i choose pheno 1, 3 and 4.

2 and 3 are basically the same so far.

20180523_095019.thumb.jpg.13ed7bfa9a197865e4270c69e08ad09d.jpg

White - psycho

Uk psychosis x white russian.

I like pheno 1. I basically picked due to leaf structure, i would like a nice psychosis pheno.

Im also watching the hippy private stash very close ( nycd x og chem ) due to the amount of females to choose from i will just re-veg the winners. I'm dreaming of the ruby red grapefruit nycd... it is the only reason i started this grow, although once i started buying seeds i couldnt stop... whooops !

Also in the pre-veg chamber is  the super lemon larry and london larry og.

20180526_104221.thumb.jpg.2b13b7c7d140fa04ecf7ac1713fdc2a6.jpg

Without a carbon filter on the nursery the london larry og smells oh so good.

London City Genetics - london larry og = lemon larry og x arif og

Arif og = lemz og x (sour krypt og x 91 krypt og)

Nice line-up.  Great looking plants.  Plagron bat mix has been on my radar for a couple years now.  I buy my supplies from a local store.  The haven't had that one yet.  Currently using Ocean Forest.

Plagron batmix is not something i would buy again. Although it has lots of goodies pre-added it definitely needs some extra amendments. I'm getting serous nitrogen deficiency after two weeks, I prefer soil with more stamina.

Hippy private stash.

Pheno 1 turned out to be a male. Its a shame such a nice plant with good structure. It has left me with 5 females.

 Pheno 2 and 3

Nice and short

20180601_231508.thumb.jpg.8bd46ba9c2279c36f96a45a5b6170075.jpg

Pheno 4, 5 and 6. Taller, wilder with more uncontrolled stretch.

20180601_231353.thumb.jpg.da6124fd167857b271eaa90bfe9e44ea.jpg

White - psycho

Pheno 1 and 2.

20180601_233128.thumb.jpg.74b1db8d174796c04f7a2f2df0338abf.jpg

Good indication when pheno hunting with uk skunk genetics. Double serrated leafs. Not a defining factor but always a good sign. (Pheno 1)

20180602_003507.thumb.jpg.12ccc6c7e9468f5ece8db4a1ebe932ae.jpg

Blues / livers s1.

All for 4 phenos showing nice skunk leaf shape. Will be hard to choose a winner.

Pheno 1 and 420180601_232327.thumb.jpg.a7d1b1ab685f7e0e3f7f421a5098fc0e.jpg

Pheno 2 and 3

20180601_232517.thumb.jpg.e6683d6ad9a67752d050ab92054c4476.jpg

Lemz - og

Pheno 1 and 2. Both went full beast mode and will yield well.

20180601_234738.thumb.jpg.75af7becfe8bdaf0aa0b3bf6da0915f6.jpg

Pheno 3. Is the one which reminds me the most of og kush ive grown in the past.

Tall and skinny with a vine structure, lots of stretch between nodes.

20180602_000412.thumb.jpg.85ea0069314c839530b6179e56ced281.jpg

And finally...

These were started at a later date hence the size.

Left - lemon larry x lemon alien dawg

Right - connoisseur genetics mystery freebie.

20180601_230949.thumb.jpg.300ecb893bb51bcd2c431fa2b31a0350.jpg

Thanks one and all,

Robin.

Are those 1 gallon grow bags?  Or smaller?

Your plants look awesome.

Thanks Gardener !!

These are 2 litre pots that go by the name ' root pouch '

They are about half a gallon

I believe a gallon = 4.5 litres.

Basically every other day, its a fine line because they can dry out and become droopy quickly if i dont stay on top of things.

Connoissuer genetics - Hippy private stash

Two short phenos :

The three lanky phenos :

20180608_235142.thumb.jpg.faeb2b7a81afa893e399081bf642e583.jpg

They really need some support if anybidy could give me advice on this not sure if it would be problematic to shove a cane through the rootball at this stage.

London City Genetics - white-psycho :

Also 100% of my clones have rooted in between around 8 and 12 days total which is awesome considering i didnt buy any cloning products. Ive only tried cloning once before and that was back in summer 2009 so im very happy.20180608_230833.thumb.jpg.55ce9da65e43f32d07c687360a4c57a0.jpg

Hey bro, those are all looking great. And no, it's not a problem putting a stake in there. They will be fine. You have a very nice garden going. You will be seeing triche covered buds in no time. Keep up the good work.

My early favourite of the group.

The short pheno of Connoisseur Genetics - hippy private stash    ( somas nycd x OGchem )

Packing on the weight and frost early. I wish i had taken cuts of her but i will definitely be re-vegging when i chop down.

Including the pot she stands at one meter.
