Wow, a half pound of SP is a lifetime supply, lol.    I love how your buds look, looks a bit like my Kali, sativa buds just look cool.

Mine are a bit chunky, small, and airy, but weigh more than they seem.  My single OCTOPOT  yielded tree and half oz, zero popcorn bud, tastes great, too!   A wiz to trim after that f#*%ing 6 oz Chuckys Bride, that cured me, lol.

The Maui sunshine and the blissfulsunset and grand dad purple animal cookies ( bag seed )  has a ph issue(and I thought it was over feeding)  the atf / nl5 had no issues at all strong indica plant they all look healthy

the clones and the MB seedling are going to stay in the solo cups till next week then into the Octopots   The seedling is just to see how one will do should be fun ! I’ll post pics later

the old mothers are being replaced with new clones and then culled ( keep them small as long as I can )

peace

Hey papalag. First, way to kill it in the octopots. Even if MrG is bad at math :D, more than enough bud to last a minute. Second, do you have any pics of the NL5 x ATF? I am gonna be starting some soon, would love to see some in action before the bud porn starts.

Here they are the largest is a male showing sex

the other large one are suspected to be males

so that leaves the 2 in front should be females

we shell see very strong looking plant

Filling the Octopots tomorrow I decided to go with pro mix bx with added perlite only  ufvf in veg  and I will go with @gardenartus and ttf in bloom hell have you seen that girls work I will definitely give this a try

I do see jet and ifish point on the n in ttf but pro mix has no feed in it at all so I’ll give it a go this round  maybe I’ll cut back on week 4 of flower

line will be  1 Madberry from seedling in solo cup 1&1/2 weeks

2 lemon gas  clone

1 shiva dawg  clone

clones rooted and in solo cups 2 weeks till strong

moms are being replaced with cuts

the grand daddy purple bag seed is sickly they most likely be culled only the strong will make the cut

atf xnl5 is a beast 1 male so far and 2 females one is stronger then the other and lush

blissful sunset looks great big leaves 1 female so far

the bog sour bubble is still not sexing yet but both plants are deep color and fat leaves short and stout

huck and herijuana bx is a late comer needs time to sex and a hardy looking plant  always wanted to try huck and heri we shell see  this is one of our friends bigun’s hacks thanks bro

the holy grail / gogi this round may not make it its sickly not sure ph issues but not responding to anything the only think I can think of is I ran out of my soil mix and got something from Home Depot and it seems too hot every thing I planted in it has issues so they need to go and start from scratch

brand new bale of pro mix should help

Hi GA yes I believe so I used happy frog last grow and it has some additives in it which just be enough to throw things off a bit

also other organic bloom food I started to look into stated if left in the Rez for more then 2 weeks could turn to a alcohol based and they recommend to place an air stone in the Rez

so  at this point keep it simple easy

we shell see the only way to learn is to experiment and we learn from our  friends

Papa, the TTF is fine. I have a bunch of grows with it under my belt and have had zero issues. I mean none, you know that. Since I have had these pots, I have had time to watch the plant much more, and starting to learn her more. The pot takes care of everything mostly, so I could focus on how they grow and subtle difference's.

I do not get fade, and do not get near the amber I use to get running my old hydro setup. The plants seem to take longer than the hydro did, and also seem to produce softer branch's and more leaf. I lose no leaf, i have had 5 footers with the cotyledons still on them. I tend to get lots of fox tailing, and blame it on my light strength.

My harvests have been stellar, and large, so no complaints there. The Octo's with TVF/TTF just flat work! Better Bud than I have ever grown, and it gets better every run. I really can not complain or bitch about much.

So, do not let my change affect your ass. I know the octopot will take care of the plants, I want to make it even better if I can. With new found and hard earned knowledge, I realize the tiny little  things I see in my grows are all related.  The claw on the picky pheno's of Goji, the fox tailing of any 60/40 or more  sativa leaning hybrid I run,  branch's not holding weight even when grown with good wind, zero leaf loss, deep green color,  less amber % at finish, longer finish times, leaf tips pointing down even with full on praying happening, the very tip, not burned, but tip down,  and zero fade. All caused by(and do not get me wrong, not harming the plant, but not optimizing it either) to much ratio (in bold) (lol) (bite me) (lol) of N in the food I have been feeding them.

My mix is pretty much inert, been used 7 or 8 times now and never done anything to it, as it was always about inert. With 40% perlite you know how that goes. So the issue that causes this, and I will absolutely stand by this,  is the ratio's of NPand K in the TTF. To just be honest, it is flat ass wrong for MJ flowering plants. It is done so well, with such good schznitt in  it, that the stuff "hides" it's flaws well, it takes a very well trained eye to see it. I did not for 3 years, do now.  I absolutely see it, and now thanks to Ifish starting me on this journey, I am going to change up, and I shall have all of you here as standards to compare to. Plus running some plants I know well, and can judge myself if the change will be effective.

Takes,  and took,  a bunch of reading, but bottom line is the plant likes, wants, and really needs it's food requirements in certain "ratio's " to be happy. TTF supplies everything, and I mean everything she needs, but not in proper ratio's, to each other. Never understood that till now, and it amazes me.

So Im gonna experiment with a different ratio completely than what your running. Will be cool to see how it goes. You know what your gonna get, I am taking the gamble, but now compelled to do so in the pursuit of more knowledge about this and the plant. Damn, turning into Santero, lol.

Thanks jet for the work you’re putting into it

I truly believe you and fish are right I’ll be watching what you’re doing and I have time to experiment as well

its fun and interesting at the same time so I know it can be tweeted

i have noticed all  of the above issues you spoke of and figured heat stress ,too close to the lights ect .... damn should have realized but it’s new to me these Octopots so time to do some very interesting research

so we just need to keep each other posted on the results

Ditto on the Happy Frog, I found it a bit too hot for young plants, and lot's of bark like stuff in it I just didn't like.

Our local tractor supply store was stocking Fox Farm's Ocean Forest this year, which I like way better, ran about 150 peppers and tomato seedlings in it without any issues at all.  Seems to be kicking it just fine on my Goji Og run.

I used to run 100 percent organic "super soil", but I've found with those mixes, if you mix them up, then cut them by about half with peat or Pro Mix, they're about where they should be.   I'm done with coir, used it for years, it's just too twitchy, locks up nutrients really bad, and growth rates in peat based mediums are just way better.

Actually, Ocean Forest is the one with all of the guano and stuff added. Happy frog is only humus and peat and biochar..Not supposed to have anything in it. Ocean Forest will burn young plants and seedlings pretty easily. I use both to cut my peat mix depending on what stage I'm at.

That looks like the product you have there paps. It has enough n to get them through but less than the TTF. You want to be bulking those flowers up in the end instead of letting the leaves steal the energy needed. just my opinion. It's still just pot. Feed heavy N on the front end, and switch to flower nutes on the back end. Octopots don't change or substitute for the nutritional needs.

Well, that's what I thought, too, regarding Ocean Forest and Happy Frog.  In Octopots, the OF is cut by 40% perlite, and I'm using the same mix in 3 gal.  It was very wet on it's own.

I've found too much worm castings/organics stunts growth,  i.e., super soil, maybe it's too much humus?   Fun to think about all this stuff again, as organic soil grow is where I started.

I've got a ton of green sand, Sunleaves High P guano, Seabird poop, kelp, azomite, lime, molasses, etc,  just been sitting on the shelf a few years.   I grabbed the OF and HF as it was on sale, and just easy.  I went to DWC because I was traveling, and could leave it.  Octoopot's do the same better.

Yeah, I use those two either to add to my promix or use it straight up to pot small plants before getting them in the final large pot.
