root-brain-theory 18 Report post Posted May 28, 2019 I found these containers with a silicon seal that should take the place of a mason jar (since those aren't safe to seal and put in the oven): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MFM8CPS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_3dC7CbKN2PGCN Haven't tried yet. As long as the seal stays airtight it should work nicely to decarboxylate flowers without losing any goods.
gardenartus 12,684 Report post Posted May 29, 2019 Those are pretty cool, think those would work
Brumfun 0 Report post Posted January 15, 2020 Hello.. After reading these posts it's certainly opened my eyes! I have straight infused bud/flower into mct oil in a slow cooker for 14hrs, the oil worked but wasnt that potent.. Would the same method work with using BHO? And if so what time frame for decarbing say 1g? All help appreciated:)

Yes you can use BHO, you would need to decarb it first. 25 to 30 minutes in a 220 oven.

(Mine is 1:50hrs @ 222f) Peace I decarb the herb first, at 200 for 20 minutes, then at 220 for one hour, before I do the extraction. Yep yours will work at 1:50 at 222f

It will hold a gallon and reclaims within hours, depending on how thick with oil it is, the thicker the oil, the longer it takes. Sure saves money by reclaiming. https://www.walmart.com/ip/VEVOR-Water-Distillers-Countertop-4L-BPA-Free-Container-750W-Digital-Control/881241007?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=18988&&adid=22222222227352645256&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=440993494944&wl4=pla-917426977617&wl5=9017521&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=125210027&wl11=online&wl12=881241007&veh=sem&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIisjSrO-a6gIVT9bACh3B6wWqEAkYCyABEgKuwPD_BwE 2

organically challenged 160 Report post Posted August 23, 2020 i was looking into making oil but my backwards state doesnt allow me to purchase that high% alchohol. Everclear here is only 151 and you need a permit and minimun 5 gallon quantity orders to purchase ethanol solvents. can you do this with 151 proof? DukeA#1 183 Report post Posted September 9, 2020 (edited) @organically challenged Yes, you can use everclear. If available I use spirytus polomos 192proof polish moonshine. I believe gardenartus uses extractol Also, I hope you use the distiller snd magnetic stirrer/heat that Gardensrtus suggest. That will save you money and the stirrer will save ya the grief. stay safe and god bless Edited September 9, 2020 by DukeA#1 Add image 1
organically challenged 160 Report post Posted September 9, 2020 yeah i have been looking at purchasing the distiller and heated stir plate. unfornately 151 proof is the highest proof i can purchase in my state. i have read that you can run the 151 through the distiller to make it a higher proof.
Sacred Plant Warrior 1,901 Report post Posted September 10, 2020 apparently amazon doesn't sell a magnetic stirrer worth buying based on reviews and i checked up to a cost of $240 approx. no surprise as that is standard amazon quality for a ton of items. google best of list of anything and if the links are to amazon you'll be hard pressed to find anything worth paying for. one of the reviews stated save up your money basically. so 'm guessing i'm quite far away from going this route and that's starts with not enough product to make it worth the trouble. hopefully when that changes so will my ability to buy the bestest at the leastest as is my spending habit lol. hell it took over a decade to fine pain bud, so i'm thrilled about that finally. workimg to advance that a bit further will be a journey al it's own.
