Dr. Green's indoor Jackberry

Recommended Posts

Good Day All

So last year growing for personal use on private property became legal in South Africa. When I heard the news I just had to get myself a small indoor setup, I don't have much space.

Here is a quick brake down of my setup:

Secret Jardin DR90 / DP60

Lumii solar 315w CMH with 4x 60w Atreum ara-20 strips

5 inch CAN filter with 5inch S&P TD-silent inline fan

3 fans inside the tent for circulation

2x 6 inch passive intakes

12000btu portable AC in the room where the tents is in

I'll be using fabric pots with Freedom Farm organic soil

Biobizz Grow and Bloom

So I tried germinating a 5 pack of fems in eazyplug-plugs. Sadly only one germinated and had a bad start to life. This was my first try germinating in eazyplug-plugs with a dome so this might have been the reason for my poor success. One of my orders also took 3 months before it reached me so it might have been damaged in that time.

I then germinated another 2 fram a different pack under the same 85w cfl but without a dome and they came up in a few days no problem. So I wil only be growing out these 2 sadly not 4 to give me a better chance of finding a nice one.

This will be my 4th run and the 1st run after I added the AC and I still need to install the Atreum strips as I only got them today. Im hoping to increase the penetration by adding the strips to my 315w cmh.

Can't remember exactly when I started the last 2 but it's probably been around 3 weeks

So far so good. They raise my temperature by 2 degrees celcuis. I've had to raise the lights a bit since I got some leaf  curl on the front 2 Jackberry's but I'm happy with the strips so far.

Got the first net in today and gave them their first feed with biobizz grow but a very diluted feed.

Also added an 80cm x 80cm tray today to help me do a good flush before harvest this time around.

I also took some clones about a week ago not rooted yet and they don't look to great but hoping they survive 20190716_234531.thumb.jpg.ff4b320d58e42f1f4bcf9e81c3b54faf.jpg20190716_234505.thumb.jpg.ff87883eaa33e75326579ae5a41fd213.jpg20190716_234518.thumb.jpg.e227b015f67ea0a9dfe586131fc0f7d5.jpg20190715_004702.thumb.jpg.9258a6f0df776bbb67e33ae0aab4f637.jpg

Clones look fine, losing a bit of color it appears, will throw roots in just a few days time. No need to cut the leaf's on the cuts, unless it was for space in the tray.

Tray looks dry, make sure RR's are not dry.

11 day screen looks GREAT!!!!!

I kinda regret getting the DR90 should have gone for a DR120. Seriously considering either a bigger tent or to devide the room they in with drywall so I can have a bigger space

So all the clones rooted and are in small pots.

Today is day 17 of flower considering doing a leaf strip tonight and putting in the second net. I've never done defoliation before so I'm a bit nervous. 20190722_200424.thumb.jpg.b9ce0cc2862db04ccb19142a011faae6.jpg

I haven't done it yet. The only reason I'm looking into it is due to some powdery mildew in the previous round. I did have a fresh air intake coming from directly outside then but I certainly don't want any PM again.

Keep an eye on the humidity and keep them fans running

when the lights go out and the temp drops quickly the humidity in this first 30 mins or so spikes/rises , in this first half hour of lights out it’s good to have a dehumidifier running to help counter react that happening , it’s good for the plants too as it keeps things more consistent which they like

if you are , remember to tape up any lights on it and trailing sockets

whats underneath like ?
