Just hit them with some cal/mag and mosquito dunks. Damn roots organic had fungus gnats in it. First time I’ve ever had any kind of bug in an indoor grow! Got rid of 4 males so far so down to 32 not yet showing. 2-SSSC Durban’s, 1-Santa Maria and 1- Sensi Star gone.  Pics are of a couple Romulan S1’s. Please excuse the droop, just watered. —-G

Things turning around. Getting a handle on fungus gnats but still dealing with soil probs. Tips of leaves are yellowing and I have yet to feed them anything except water and some cal/mag. Plants pictured are Sensi Star, Old Widow S1, Romulan S1, SSSC Durban and Pure Gooey. Can’t seem to get tent higher than 81 degrees. Need to find a solution to get it around 86 degrees. Thanks, G

Fed with organic tea last night. First time these have been fed. Most have sexed but I’m waiting till they develop better before last cull. Seems the 7 I popped for me and a personal friend were all male  but two still in there. Praying I’m wrong. The rest are indica heavy hybrids, not my personal cup of tea but great meds for the girlfriend. I think these are going on six weeks but could be wrong. I didn’t write the date I started down.

Oh bummer, hope no more males for you and no sativa oh no. Well you can't use anyway, guess one way of looking at it, the one who can use is gonna have a lot of supply lol. They look stunning Griot.

Better pics after organic tea feeding. Their first time fed! Not sure but I believe these are 6 weeks old or so. Had a rough start. Waiting on gypsum to arrive do I can fix this soil problem. Fixed the temp problem at least temporarily by bringing both 40’s down alongside the 65’s. Thinking about nematodes for fungus gnats. About had it with them.

Got in the garden last night and went to work. Trimmed up these beauties and added some gypsum to the soil. Finished off with some organic brew from earthjuice. I have nematodes on the way, gonna massacre these fungus gnats once and for all!!! Pics to follow as I have some more surprise females that showed. —G

Still waiting on a little less than half to sex. Very excited over finding the last SSSC Durban to be female.

Still have 10 of 24 that I can’t sex yet. Have double females on several so gonna have to pick which one to run out of doubles. I can probably only get 10 in the flower tent unless I go for bonsai littles. My old widow is showing yellow tips on new growth and I’m not sure why. I know it’s not too much nitrogen. Any help from you guys on this I’m all ears. They are really hitting their stride in veg. I’m waiting on next watering to hit with nematodes. I ordered a bubble snake for organic teas as I’m tired of messing with aquarium pump weakness. Took a few pics the single plants are the old widow, Bubba kush and a Blue Moon Magoo from Sinister Seeds.

PH maybe? Dang Griot, your plants are really gorgeous, full and healthy. I would love to see some of your little bonsai type again, they are so cool looking.

Well it seems soil ph is too high and I don’t have time to mess with it so I guess I will chop roots down and repot with different dirt. Any recommendations on bag soil? I don’t have time to make my own. Thanks, G

Hey Griot, have you considered trying a premix instead of soil? I made the change over a year ago and am so glad I did. Much more consistent results and no PH issues. I'm using Sunshine mix #4.

I will never use roots organic again. All freaking wood and fungus gnats. That’s what got me in this mess

I have never had that issue. I do let it bake outside in our scorching sun for a week before using however, getting totally dry, then mix it. Bringing any new soil without "cleaning" it into the grow room is a no no.

Any bag of stuff you buy has a good chance of having bugs, why I bake all mine before use.

Sorry you had issues with the Roots, I have 25 plants growing in it right now.

Life is different for everyone, I don’t have the luxury of time to cook dirt. Appreciate the info though, thanks

You might want to look into chilled grow lights chilled pucks v3. I have the v2 and just finished building frame etc.
