After my last grow i realized I needed:

1. to do a lot more work on my grow area, and

2. some of that shit meant persons of unknown trustworthiness would be in my grow area.

So I had to tear down. The work is now done (I have a water supply on the same floor as my grow, among other things) and it's long overdue for me to get my ass in gear!

Everything I'm growing this time around was either purchased at Sannies Seeds, could be purchased at Sannies Seeds, or I got through a friend here on Open Grow. We have:

Pineapple Fields - I popped 5 of a 10 pack years ago, and really enjoyed the grow experience. Since then, another grower here on OG gave me the 5 seeds he had left from a pack he had partially grown out. All 10 are going to be sprouted, and maybe I'll get that Roadkill Skunk pheno I had heard so much about.

Peyote Pancake - Available at Sannie's. The only thing I know about it is what I read on the shop site, and what I read here. I'll sprout 5 this time around.

Blueberry Quintessa - Also available at Sannie's. Again, the only thing I know is what I read on the seed shop site and right here. My wife and I have developed a taste for 50/50 CBD/THC edibles, and this will be my first attempt at a CBD plant of any kind. I'll sprout another 5 of these.

Lemon Bubba - An @santerocreation with some promising genetics. His "sweet spot" was one of my favorites of my last grow. While I didn't keep any cuts from them, they were enjoyable enough that I'll continue popping Santero seeds for a while.

Lemon Thai F3 - This is an @smilestylecreation, keeping the old Fusion Seeds genetics alive. I've wanted to sprout this for years now. 5 will be sprouted.

Miss U Jack - This was a freebie @ProfessorP created, distributed by Sannie's Shop. It's Miss Universe #10 x a Jack Herrer pheno from the garden of Jack Herrer, himself! It's another I've had for years. They're finally getting into the lineup.

It will be an organic soil grow. I'm ready to start Octopots, but in February I'll be shipping off for a couple of weeks on business. My wife will have a much easier time just watering than messing with pH and TDS meters. Besides, I want to have some keepers to put in those Octos. No need to have a shitload of some mediocre pheno.

More as things develop...

Germ rates are 80 - 100% so far, except for Pineapple Fields, which seems to be slow (20% at this time). They are the oldest, purchased in 2013, I think. Could have been made a year earlier. The other 'old' seeds would be Miss U Jack and Lemon Thai, but they're cracking like nobodies business. Maybe PF is just a slow one.

Germ rate, as of now:

Pineapple Fields, Peyote Pancake, Blueberry Quintessa, Miss U Jack: 100%

Lemon Bubba and Lemon Thai F3: 80%.

Luckily Santero and Smilestyle have double your money back guarantees on their gifts.

She will not have any issues taking care of them in the Octopots . Your about to change your growing style for life, 1 run will be all it takes to convert you. Good luck.

Ooh! The last Lemon Thai germed.

Pretty good germ rate, especially for the older seeds, like the Dynasty wares and the Lemon Thai. I'm guessing those LT f3 seeds are somewhere around 5 years old.

This thread will go a little quiet until there's something picture-worthy, or I do something stupid, and want to offer up a warning to others not to repeat the stupid. (Stupid from last time: 8 hours of UV from specialized t-5 UV tubes is about 7 hours too much.)

Still, it's a seed run in search of keepers. When I have a cut or two that I want to grow again, and I strongly suspect that will happen with this group, I'll go full Octo.

Yep, that’s all it took for me.

Second run just kicked into flower, still LOS / No till. Pots never moved, cut finished plants off at soil surface, top dressed let set 2 weeks and replanted, done.

Is that a 5' x 5', or a 4' x 4'?

The reason I ask is that I have a 5 x 5, and I'm wondering if 6 Octopots would fit in there, maybe with more training and trimming.

I also intend to either build a second area, with permanent walls, or get a 4' x 4' tent. One will be for seed runs, the other will be for higher production of whatever good phenos I find in my seed runs (in Octos).

I love doing seed runs, just for the mystery of it.

4 Octopots will bust out a 5x5

OK. Looks like the 5' x 5' will eventually be the Octopot tent.

I transplanted the seedlings from a tray of rooting cubes into soil last night, and noticed what looked like leaf burn on the tips of the first true leaves. Then I realized it must be Ca/Mg! The little gals were about 8 - 10 days old, just at the age where they might want a nute or two.

This is the problem I've always had when I take a break from growing, even for only a few months — I forget to pay attention to certain details, like transplant the fucking seedlings in a timely manner. Luckily, this doesn't look like much of a problem and they're all in soil with nutes in it, now.

One Pineapple Fields seedling is going to be culled. It sat there for days, with the seed shell on it, not opening its cotyledon leaves. I removed the shell, and it still just sat there. It seems to have no true leaves developing at all — it's just cotyledons. No roots can be seen emerging from the cubes

So I'm down to 33 seedlings:

9 Pineapple Fields, 4 Lemon Bubba, 5 Peyote Pancake, 5 Blueberry Quintessa, 5 Lemon Thai and 5 Miss U Jack. Boys will be axed, so I'll be well below my 24 plant limit in another few weeks.

Yeah, that was a bad time. I remember you were also near the end of a Pineapple Fields grow, which excited me into growing it.

I didn't think about the Miss U Jack, until someone, might have been madmaster, told me where the "Jack" part came from. (From Jack!). At the time it seemed like there were a LOT of Miss U. crosses, so I just tossed it into The Vault. (The Vault is actually a small, plastic storage container in my refrigerator.)
