Problem, mold ?

Recommended Posts

Is this white powder mold ?

It has been showing up on my flowering plants for more than a month.

I have reused my soil for ever, using amendments.

Recently I have mixed in "black gold" soil, blood meal, Epsom salts.

  1. You are correct gardenartus    , there are bugs and bug eggs on the bottom of the leaves!
  2. They look like the images of trips from the net.
  3.  Should I just shut this room down?
  4. They are in my veg tent also.

You might try ladybugs before tossing. They love aphids.

That's two different animals!

Are you sure it are no spider mites?

Did you compare them with pics of spider mites?

They are easier to see then Thrips.

Good luck!

I said that wrong, they also love thrips, had no idea why I said aphids lol. I believe it is thrips, the damage they cause looks like this, but good advice, make sure you know what you are treating for. Mites usually leave those tiny holes looking spots, thrips look like they suck the juice out and dry the leaf out.

Eggs? What kind of eggs?

These are Thrips eggs:

And here's the spider mites and it's egg.

Never seen that.

Spider mites feed on plant tissues and sap. They pierce the cell wall of the back of leaves and literally suck the juices out of the leaf, causing it to spot. Over time, this goes from tiny yellow spots through complete yellowing of the leaf, and a large population can decimate a plant quickly.

Thanks people !

I read some more and found that mites live @ lay eggs on the bottom side of leaves like I have .

Thrips were said to live on top of the leaves

I will get photos tomorrow.

Some thrips lay their eggs without wounding the plant. ... Some of them attach their eggs to the underside of leaves with a special glue. About half of the different species of thrips are like this: the Tubulifera sub-order.

Thrips eggs are lain on or in soft tissue. Most of the pest species actually lay their eggs inside the plant, in a small wound. These are usually thrips of the Terebrantia sub-order.

This is usually in:

To tell you the truth, I think most things we use to kill bugs, will kill both.

It was mites. It still is mites. In a few days the webbing was everywhere.

I started harvesting what I can, culling plants with more than 2 weeks to go. There are 2 plants yet to harvest in a few days.

I culled all my clones and all but 2 small girls ( spider bite ) in veg.

I disposed the top 2" of soil from all the pots.

I need to treat the 2 girls I am trying to save with something.

I need to clean everything.
